Could This Woman be President-Elect Trump’s Secretary of State?

NIkki Haley

In what might be the biggest surprise since Donald Trump became America’s next president, the Republican is set to meet with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley over a possible cabinet position in the White House, specifically Secretary of State.

Haley is set to meet with Trump in Trump Tower on Thursday to discuss a possible role in the White House despite the South Carolina governor’s previous criticism of the president-elect.

According to Breitbart Trump “is also meeting with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla. Cincinnati Mayor Ken Blackwell, Adm. Mike Rogers and Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, in New York at Trump Tower.”

Haley was not an initial supporter of Trump, choosing to back Florida Senator Marco Rubio prior to the South Carolina Primary, and had some sharp words for Trump saying he was “everything a governor doesn’t want in a president.”

Haley also clashed with the president-elect over his temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, and even though she did vote for Trump, Haley says eh was “not a fan” of the Republican. It is unclear whether or not her lack of loyalty to Mr. Trump will hurt her chances to serve in the White House, but the president-elect is well known for hiring women, especially in high-level positions within his company.

Prior to her clash with Trump, Haley was popular among conservatives, so she could prove to be a valuable asset to Mr. Trump if she is offered a position in the White House.
