NFL Fined Players For Wearing 9/11 Remembrance Cleats

The NFL is perfectly fine with athletes taking a knee during the National Anthem – first as a protest for “racial justice,” and now in defiance of President Trump after he attacked former San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick.

It’s a questionable business move for sure, because it goes to prove that the League doesn’t know their audience. Seventy-two percent of viewers see the protests as unpatriotic. This is hardly the first time the political Left has been on the wrong side of an issue, of course.

Should players have the right to kneel? Absolutely – just as everyone else has the First Amendment right to give the NFL a piece of their mind, and vote with their dollars in turning off the TV. What is interesting, however, is that kneeling is speech that the NFL decided to allow. And when you take a look at what speech they didn’t allow in the past, it’s clear that allowing the Kaepernick-style protest isn’t a First Amendment issue for the Left – it’s pure politics.

Here’s the rundown.

Back in September of 2016, the NFL officially banned Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson from wearing custom-made cleats on the field that memorialized the victims of the September 11th attacks. Since he couldn’t wear them at the game, he instead auctioned them off and donated the funds to Operation Warrior Wishes.

And that’s not all!

In July 2016, five police officers were murdered in Dallas by Micah Xavier, and another nine were wounded. Xavier was upset about recent police shootings, and sympathized with the Black Lives Matter movement. In his words, he “wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.”

Naturally, the Dallas Cowboys wanted to honor the fallen officers, and planned on playing one game with a special decal featuring a star and the words “ARM IN ARM” to honor the fallen officers. And despite that occurring during the time of Kaepernick’s anti-police protests, the NFL didn’t care much for a pro-police non-protest, and the Cowboys weren’t allowed to wear those decals.

Protest police? A-OK.

Protest Trump? A-OK.

But support murdered police officers? Or honor those who were killed in the worst Islamic terrorist attack on American soil?

The NFL says ‘no way.’

How does that make any sense?

If you’re outraged by the NFL, share this story now! Make sure others see the hypocrisy!
