Man Who Killed Pregnant Girlfriend Escapes Abortion Charge Thanks to New York Law

A New York law allowing for late-term abortions up to birth is being cited for allowing a man who murdered his pregnant girlfriend to escape further charges.

Thirty-five-year-old Jennifer Irigoyen was 5 months pregnant when she and the baby were brutally stabbed to death in her Queens apartment in early February.

According to accounts as to what happened, the scene was not only grisly but heartbreaking.

“He’s got a knife!” one witness later recalled Irigoyen screaming. “He’s going to kill the baby!”

The killer did just that … except, apparently, not in the eyes of New York state law, thanks to Democrats and Governor Andrew Cuomo who have shown they no longer value the lives of the unborn.

The boyfriend was charged “with murder, tampering with physical evidence, abortion, and criminal possession of a weapon,” though later reports indicate the abortion charge was dropped.

Why Was the Abortion Charge Dropped?

A spokesman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown placed blame squarely on the new law that Cuomo just celebrated, allowing abortion up to the minute of birth.

The abortion charge “was repealed by the Legislature, and this is the law as it exists today,” the spokesman explained.

How truly abhorrent.

Last month, Cuomo celebrated his state’s new abortion legislation which allows termination of the baby at any time during pregnancy.

He described the law as “a giant step forward in the hard-fought battle to ensure a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her own personal health” and a “historic victory for New Yorkers.”

Now, it seems, it’s a victory for people who seek to murder their pregnant wife or girlfriend.

Trump Slammed New York’s Abortion Law

President Trump addressed the rising radical pro-abortion stance of Democrats by incorporating firm pro-life language into his State of the Union address.

“To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb,” he stated.

“Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life,” the President added. “And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: all children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.”
