New Report Claims Whistleblower Receiving More Than Quarter-Million Dollars Illegally Through GoFundMe

Fox News reported Tuesday that the whistleblower whose allegations sparked the current impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump might be in violation of federal law by receiving more than a quarter-million dollars from a GoFundMe account.

Fox News says this information came to light thanks to another whistleblower whose identity is being kept secret.

“The complaint, which was filed last week and obtained by Fox News, alleged the donations from roughly 6,000 individuals ‘clearly constitute’ gifts to a current intelligence official that may be restricted because of the employee’s official position pursuant to 5 CFR 2635.203 and other statutes,” Fox News reported.

“To date, the GoFundMe has raised over $227,000,” the report noted. The goal is set at $300,000.

“The complaint also raised the possibility that some of the donations may have come from prohibited sources, and asked the ICIG to look into whether any ‘foreign citizen or agent of a foreign government’ contributed,” Fox News added.

Fox News reported these new allegations by the second whistleblower on Tuesday night and host Sean Hannity also discussed these new revelations on his syndicated radio program.

President Donald Trump’s campaign did not hesitate to seize on this news.

“BREAKING NEWS: New ICIG complaint alleges the partisan “whistleblower” is soliciting illicit donations from a GoFundMe page,” Team Trump tweeted. “Donations may have come from prohibited sources, such as foreign citizens or foreign governments!”

“STOP THE COUP!” the tweet ended

Law firm Tully Rinckey PLLC represents the second whistleblower and is closely guarding the identity of their client.

“I have not seen anything on this scale,” managing partner of Tully Rinckey PLLC, Anthony Gallo said to Fox News regarding the fundraising. “It’s not about politics for my client — it’s whistleblower-on-whistleblower, and [my client’s] only interest is to see the government ethics rules are being complied with government-wide.”

Indeed. But will Democrats care as much about potential lawbreaking regarding these new allegations as they do pursuing impeachment? We already know the answer to that question.

The GoFundMe is suspect at the very least. The Federalist’s Sean Davis raised a good point on Twitter Tuesday.

“Seems like this would be an easy way for foreign agents to buy off shady U.S. intelligence officials: who needs risky bribes, handoffs, and peer-to-peer paper trails when you can just hire lawyers to set up a GoFundMe to anonymize your cash flows?” Davis tweeted.

The first, reportedly anti-Trump, whistleblower’s attorneys called the GoFundMe a way to “help support the Intelligence Community Whistleblower [to] raise funds,” and the GoFundMe page itself states that “A U.S. intelligence officer… needs your help” in the form of a “crowdfunding effort to support the whistleblower’s lawyers.”

Yeah, we aren’t buying it either.

  • We here in the USA have things called “contracts” Boris, and these help determine people’s varying responsibilities in the event a company fails. People afraid of losing money are not required to invest; businesses providing services for which they are afraid they will not be paid can buy something called “insurance.”

I know, is very different from how you are simply told by fearless leader to do thinks in old country.

Is also true Republicans cannot seem to find backside with both hands. Had I, while flying supersonic jets, done just once accidentally what Comrade Clinton did daily as a matter of policy, I would have been in prison for ten years. That she remains free with neck still attached shows much corruption in both parties.

  • Well, I know one of my responses was deleted, but no matter. Using your logic, I guess you think it's okay for a businessman to have 6 bankruptcies and keep all their money, while others suffer? You can play the "statistics" game all you want want, but they involve human beings that are not just numbers. In business, if you do enough dealings with someone, they become your close friend, albeit a business friend . I've heard Trump has even dealt with the Mafia in his real-estate transactions. I'm also not a big fan of Hillary, as you suggest, but sometimes a choice is "the lesser of two evils." As far as "indictments are coming," I'll have to see it to believe it. So far, the Republicans are just a bunch of "blow-hards" that can't seem to formulate any proper or successful investigations.

  • No, I still see the comment you posted to which I replied. It illustrated how ignorant you are about running businesses. A 5% bankruptcy rate in venture capital real estate is actually excellent.

You have a strange definition of “close friends.” Manafort barely knew Trump, and his crime was investigated twice before and rejected for prosecution until he became associated with President Trump. Flynn committed no actual crime, but was entrapped in hopes he would bear false witness against Trump. Count on that getting overturned. What’s left is a sleazy lawyer who got himself involved with a scam Trump has nothing to do with. So sad.

I’m sure all these fantasies help you deal with your grief over Hillary’s epic beat-down, but you’d best get over it fast. Indictments are coming, and they are likely to crush what little remains of your spirit if you are still grieving for the Hildebeast.

  • So Clinton failed too, big deal. I'm not saying other people's illegal crap makes up for someone else's illegal crap. That's just distraction to make someone else not look so bad. In my book, "two wrongs don't make a right." Send them both to jail, preferably the same cell with a camera in it so we can watch and listen to what they have to say to each other. They'll probably both talk about all the fun and sex they had with Epstein's girls. Probably be better than any "reality TV" show ever!...LOL

  • I think you're replying to a comment of mine that got deleted. I don't understand why these sites do that when I don't even use foul language. Oh well, most of Trump's "goons" that were charged and convicted were close friends, not some low guy on the totem pole. We'll see next election if he survives.

  • The man owned over a hundred businesses. By your standards a person would need to be omniscient and omnipotent to insure not one employee committed a crime in his organization. In other words, you are applying impossible standards to rationalize your insane hatred.

Dont worry, he will leave in only five more years.

  • Your statistics are skewed and biased. Economics is like a roller coaster, and we just went through a major recession caused by people like Trump who take advantage of the legal system. I am not jealous of millionaires, just ones that got their money from daddy and had to take 6 bankruptcies to keep it. Self made millionaires like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett, I did and do admire. Trump does not represent the common man, and will only take advantage and manipulate them for his own agenda.

  • What he did as a private citizen with consenting adults has nothing to do with how the country is run! I don't like it either, but he is NOW in charge of the country, and I like the job he's doing! The Dems are guilty of crimes that effect the country! I couldn't care less about what they do in their private lives either, but I do care about how they run the country, and so should you!

  • Thanks for using all caps, that really makes your point all that more accurate. Keep promoting "fake news" as Trump appreciates that. How about Trump bragging in a actual released recording about "kissing and grouping beautiful women" as he wishes because he's some "star?"....or the pay off of a porn star Stormy Daniels to hide his affair? Look at all the people in Trump's circle that have been prosecuted and/or fired, since he took office. All these things defended by the republicans and probably you too. Look, I'm not saying there isn't corruption by the Dems, but it can be found equally on both sides of the table. We may or may not get a better president in office in 2020, but at the moment Trump is corrupt and not bringing this country together. If anything, he's making it worse. He talks about "draining the swamp," but he simple comes from a different part of the "swamp" and wants to take over and make it all his own, and I'm sure you're "okay" with that.
