A new poll conducted in Iowa shows President Trump would beat both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden by double digits in the presidential race.
Double Digit Leads in Iowa!
The poll, conducted by the Des Moines Register and Mediacom, shows President Trump performs very well in hypothetical match ups against the senator from Vermont and the former Vice President in Iowa. Both Democratic candidates would receive 41% of the vote in the potential presidential race, according to the poll, but the percentage that Trump would receive changes between his two opponents.
In a race against Joe Biden, Trump would gain 51% of the vote, and against Sanders, he would receive an extra 2%, with fewer unsure voters backing the President in that instance.
50% of Iowans also approve of the work that Trump is doing in the office of President, including 94% of Republicans, 60% of men, 63% of evangelicals, 68% of rural Iowans, and 57% of those making $100,000 a year or more.
“That is a high-water mark in the Iowa Poll,” said J. Ann Selzer, the pollster who conducted the poll. It coincides with 46% of Iowans who think that the country is on the right track, the highest it’s been since May 2003.
“This is a good poll for President Trump,” Selzer added.
The President is on Track for a Big Win!
“There are some things about the man, personally, I don’t care for, but policy, yes,” Steve Jorgensen, an independent voter, told the Des Moines register. “His trade policies – particularly for the farmers – I think in the long run are going to turn out great. A lot of us right now are kind of in-between. It’s tough out here, buddy. But it’s coming around.”
This poll proves what people have been saying for awhile now – that President Trump will be able to beat the Democratic candidate, no matter who they are! Iowa is a crucial swing state that he turned red in the 2016 election after Obama had pulled it during his two wins in 2008 and 2012. It’s a bellweather in how the states that will determine the 2020 race are thinking, and this poll is fantastic news for the President.
