A new ordinance issued to police in Cambridge, Massachusetts, instructs them to stop arresting unlicensed, illegal alien drivers.

“We Need to Protect Our Community”

The “Welcoming City” ordinance was unanimously passed by Cambridge town hall authorities, declaring that “all are welcome” in their city. It tells police that if they encounter an illegal alien driving without a licence in Cambridge, then they should issue a court summons instead of arresting them:

When taking action against a person who is found to be driving without a valid driver’s license, officers of the Cambridge Police Department shall, whenever possible in the officer’s discretion and if there are no other violations causing the person to be arrested, issue a summons to court instead of taking the person into custody. In such circumstances, the law enforcement officer taking action shall endeavor to provide the driver a reasonable opportunity to arrange for a properly licensed operator to drive the vehicle before seeking to impound the vehicle, unless the violation is one subject to a statutory or regulatory requirement of vehicle impoundment.

The ordinance also stops police from questioning somebody about their immigration status.

“We need to protect our community members from a federal government that’s out of control,” Cambridge City Councilor Quinton Zondervan told Fox 25. “There are no other reasons for the police to arrest someone, give them a court summons instead which keeps them out of the clutches of the Trump administration.”

Cambridge is Following The Lead of New York and Virginia

Cambridge seems to be taking its lead from the state governments in Virginia and New York, with the former having just passed legislation that would allow illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licences, and the latter implementing similar legislation in December. With New York’s “Green Light” law, not only do illegal aliens have the ability to obtain licences, but they actually have more rights than American citizens, as ICE and the DHS are prohibited from accessing information from a vehicle owned by an illegal alien if they have just run their plates.

This frustrates me to no end. Yet another group of pro-migration imbeciles are putting ordinary Americans at risk. What problem do you have with someone who broke, and in this case, keeps breaking, the laws of this country being investigated by the relevant authorities? I think I know the answer – it’s because they have to protect their voters somehow! I wonder if illegal aliens voted Republican, if these same people would be as inclined to protect them?
