Report: Dump Trump Elector Caught in Massive Lie About 9/11

A faithless elector in Texas that vowed to vote for John Kasich over Donald Trump is in some hot water over one of the reasons he gave for turning on the will of the people.

In an op-ed for the New York Times, Christopher Suprun, a Republican member of the Electoral College, vowed to NOT cast his vote for President-elect Trump.

In doing so, he told a story about being a fireman who responded to the devastating terror attacks on 9/11.

“Fifteen years ago, as a firefighter, I was part of the response to the Sept. 11 attacks against our nation,” Suprun wrote. “That attack and this year’s election may seem unrelated, but for me the relationship becomes clearer every day.”

A new report suggests that there are a couple of problems with his story – one, his fire company is not listed as having responded on 9/11, and two, Suprun allegedly became a firefighter in October of that year.

Via the Daily Caller:

The Texas elector who cited his experience as a 9/11 first responder for his refusal to vote for President-elect Donald Trump appears to have fabricated the entire thing, according to an investigation by local news outlet WFAA.

Chris Suprun said he responded with the Manassas Park, Virginia fire department after the third plane hit the Pentagon during the September 11 terrorist attacks. But WFAA’s investigation reveals that the department wasn’t among those responding to the attacks. What’s more, Suprun didn’t even join the fire department until October, 2001 — a month after after the attacks.

Worse, Suprun appears to have lied about other experience on his resume. He claims to currently being a paramedic for EMS Freedom, a company that actually closed down in 2008. Another company where he claims to be employed, Air Methods ambulance services, says he doesn’t actually work there either.

One first responder likened Suprun’s lies to that of ‘stolen valor’ – people who claim to have served in our military or who embellish their service.

“It’s no different than stolen valor for the military; dressing up and saying ‘Hey, I earned a Purple Heart’ when you weren’t even in combat,” the first responder said. “There’s a big difference between shopping at Old Navy and being a Navy SEAL.”

In our previous report on Suprun, we opined that the faithless elector seemed “more interested in garnering media attention by publicly revealing his own personal wishy-washy conflicts about Trump’s election,” than telling the truth.

Now it seems that’s his approach to life in general – seeking attention through made up stories.
