National Guardsman Who Sacrificed His Life To Save Illegal Immigrants Reveals Democrat Lie About ‘Racist’ Border Authorities

The body of Texas National Guardsman Specialist Bishop E. Evans, a young black man who was just 22-years-old, was found Monday. Friday he went missing, jumping into the water of the Rio Grande to save two illegal immigrants who were attempting to cross the border.

According to the Texas Rangers, the illegal immigrants involved took part in “illicit transnational narcotics trafficking.”

The incident is sad, tragic, and infuriating. And it destroys the left-wing, Democrat-fed narrative that authorities protecting our border are racist, jack-booted thugs who are enforcing ‘white supremacy.’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott released the following statement;

“Our National Guard soldiers risk their lives every day to serve and protect others and we are eternally grateful for the way SPC Evans heroically served his state and country.”

The argument must be made that Specialist Evans never should’ve been in the position he found himself on Friday. In the first half of 2021, Border Patrol apprehended 900,000 people, more than the entirety of 2019.

With the Border Patrol not able to keep up with the influx of illegal immigrants and Fentanyl coming across Biden’s open border, and no help on the way from the Feds, it was left to Governor Abbott to send the National Guard. That’s how a young field artillery officer found himself risking, and ultimately giving, his life to save drug dealers who were trying to illegally enter our country.

There are plenty on the left-side of the political aisle who have accused Governor Abbott of ‘political theater’ by activating his National Guard to help protect his border. However, they didn’t have an issue with the 26,000 who were sent to D.C. during the inauguration:

As if cries to defund the police weren’t ridiculous and damaging enough to the country’s safety and security, some on the left went even further.

This admin clearly had enough extra money to spontaneously build child detention camps all along the southern border + conduct a massive, cross-country family-separation operation.

If anything, DHS’s horrific actions last year means we should consider budget cuts, not increases.

No doubt the far left’s influence over the President helped in his decision to cut border funding by $428 million in the omnibus spending bill. What did get funding boosts in the omnibus? The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration enjoyed an 8% boost to hire “resilience focused staff”. Your guess is as good as mine on what that means.

Dark Inaccurate Narratives

But back to the Democrats, who have made an art out of demonizing those who serve at our southern border. When Paul Ratije’s photo of Border Patrol agents on horseback went viral, Democrats were quick to attack the agents claiming they were ‘whipping’ Haitian migrants.

The agents were put on desk duty, and the President himself said, without evidence:

“I promise you, those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences.”

The rhetoric from Democrats about the selfless men and women perhaps vainly attempting to protect our country has been nothing short of shocking:

These are human rights abuses, plain and simple.

Still others within the party chose to go the old racist route, such as Congresswoman Frederica Wilson from Florida who said of Border Patrol after the photo went viral;

“The Border Patrol are leftover racist white men who do not like immigrants, and what really made them angry is that these where Black immigrants.”

While 65.7% of Border Patrol agents are indeed white, that shouldn’t be a surprise in a country that is currently 76% white.

In fact, Hispanics are overrepresented in the Border Patrol, at 20.6%. But you get the point Democrats want to make about securing the border. It’s racist, and it’s done by racists. 

The photographer came out almost right away in defense of the Border Patrol agents in the ‘whipping’ episode, stating;

“I didn’t ever see them whip anybody.”

“That’s something that can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.

‘Those people’ were cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

Those People

While portrayed as bad actors not interested in the well-being of the illegal immigrants breaking our laws by crossing the border illegally, the truth is these people are heroes of the same flavor as our police officers and military service members. (In Texas, they often are police officers and military service members.)

This past January, Border Patrol agents saved a group of illegal immigrants who were undoubtedly going to drown if they hadn’t intervened.

We’ve also seen the heartbreaking pictures of Border Patrol saving abandoned children who would succumb to the elements, if not worse: kidnapped and used for profit. Some of these children are as young as two to a few months old.

A Little Late

Democrats are now starting to change their tune to the border with the upcoming mid-terms. The most interesting Democratic visit to the border came from New Hampshire, Senator Maggie Hassan.

The border she went to visit wasn’t Canada, which actually borders her state. It was her third trip to the Mexico border, which by my count, is two times more than Border Czar Vice President Kamala Harris.

Others who have a clearer interest in the border have come out about immigration and border security. Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, whose seat is vulnerable this election cycle, said;

“We’ve got a crisis on the southern Arizona border. I talk about it, because it’s an issue for my state and for my constituents and I also think it’s a national security issue.”

This newfound interest in border security and immigration from members of the Democratic Party comes after the administration’s announcement to end Title 42 pandemic restrictions.

Democratic Congressman Jared Golden from Maine pointed out the lack of a plan by this administration once Title 42 is lifted;

“The Biden administration is not currently prepared for a large increase in border crossings. Ending these Title 42 authorities without a plan in place to manage the resulting influx of migrants is irresponsible and could create crisis conditions that would be both dangerous for migrants coming to America and Americans themselves.”

Compared to how Democrats talk about them, the reality of what America is and what Americans are like could not be more opposite.

Our country is not made up of leftover racists. Instead, our country consists of heroes in our law enforcement, military, and border patrol. Heroes like Specialist Evans.
