MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Declares ‘Republicans Knew Donald Trump Was A Big, Fat Liar’

On Wednesday, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said that Republican supporters of former President Donald Trump knew that he was a “big, fat liar” but still voted for him anyway.

Wallace, the former George W. Bush spokesman, made her comments on her MSNBC program “Deadline.”

Wallace: ‘They Stayed With Him’

Wallace was interviewing fellow former George W. Bush staffer Matthew Dowd, who served as the chief strategist for Bush’s 2004 reelection campaign.

Dowd is now running to be Lt. Governor of Texas – as a Democrat.

Wallace asked Dowd, “Matthew, as a strategist with whom I worked alongside, I understood this about voters, one they don’t like to be lied to. Two, they want to see government deliver.”

“The current Republican Party breaks those rules,” Wallace claimed. “The Republicans lie to them all the time.”

That’s when Wallace personally insulted Trump and his supporters in no uncertain terms.

“It would seem Republicans knew Donald Trump was a big, fat liar,” Wallace said. “They stayed with him, some of them are still with him.”

Wallace continued, “In terms of delivering, I mean Texas has delivered gun laws that endanger all Texans. It has been AWOL on COVID protections, that has killed Texans. It has taken away reproductive rights which has Texas women and couples in some instances fleeing the state for health care.”

“How do you undo what is really an upside down dynamic in terms of how traumatized sort of Stockholm Syndrome Republican voters feel about their failed leaders?” Wallace asked.

It’s unclear why Wallace used three examples of policies Republican voters strongly support to make her argument that Republicans don’t deliver on policies.

Former Bushie Dowd

Dowd told the Texas Tribune that he made the decision to run for Lt. Governor in Texas after the Capitol riot on January 6.

Among the top issues he has mentioned to the Tribune and in interviews, he opposes Texas’ laws that ban COVID-related mandates, wants looser abortion laws, and wants stronger gun control.
