MSNBC Host Wallace: Republicans ‘Must Assert The Truth’ Before They Can ‘Share Any Other Views’

MSNBC Host Wallace Says Republicans ‘Must Assert The Truth’ Before They Can ‘Share Any Other Views’

On Wednesday, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace brought up the dangers of “echo chambers” and said that she would create a policy “that a Republican must assert the truth before they’re allowed to share any other views.”

Wallace also said that if the U.S. can protect itself from counterfeit currency, “we should be able to protect against fake news that we now know has the potential to kill people, as it did two weeks ago.”

Before becoming an MSNBC host, Wallace was White House Communications Director for President George W. Bush.

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Wants To help Republicans Understand ‘Truth’

Wallace made these comments – comments that imply only Democrats and the left should be able to interpret and enforce “truth” – during an MSNBC interview with former Obama Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.

Wallace asked Rhodes about “the extraordinary damage that this culture of disinformation and echo chambers that repeat the lies have done and how this new team is poised to take that on.”

Next, the MSNBC host accused GOP Senator Lindsey Graham of not doing enough to combat a “lie,” which she then suggested led to the violence at the Capitol two weeks ago.

Wallace: ‘We Should Be Able To Protect Against Fake News’

Wallace continued, “It would be my policy that a Republican must assert the truth before they’re allowed to share any other views. And Lindsey Graham, I understand, appeared somewhere today and refused to really go far enough in beating down the lie.”

She then compared the existence of “fake news” to counterfeit money.

Wallace further stated, “If we can protect against counterfeit dollar bills, we should be able to protect against fake news that we now know has the potential to kill people, as it did two weeks ago.”

Journalist Glenn Greenwald Slams Wallace

Civil libertarian journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted in response, “I want to travel back to 2004 and tell liberals that in about 15 years, your favorite cable host will be Bush/Cheney’s Communications Director – Ms. WMD – and you’ll cheer as she says that no Republican should be allowed on media or social media if they spread ‘Fake News.”

There Is Now A Concerted Effort To Control Speech

The old “liberal” notion of a pluralistic society in which the free exchange of ideas is its greatest currency is quickly becoming passe.

Not just on the left, but among the establishment, writ large.

Wallace worked for George W. Bush. Many of our readers remember how Democrats and the media treated Bush and his staffers.

Now, some of those staffers want to help that same media squelch speech they disagree with.

Expect it to get worse.
