Thousands of miles separated this military couple during the holiday season of 2014. But they weren’t about to let the situation ruin their Christmas cheer.
Daniel Perdue was serving in Afghanistan at the time. His wife, Christina, was home in Westchester, N.Y. They had a great idea to celebrate Christmas.
“So she took a picture holding this sign that says Merry Christmas then mailed the sign to him, so he can take a picture as well,” WJBK-TV reports.
Christina then simply combined the photos, turning them into one, and posted the image on Facebook. It’s clear to see why the heartwarming image was seen all around the world.
The photo struck a cord with many families who support our military and those who also have loved ones serving overseas this Christmas.
