Los Angeles Councilman Mike Bonin (D) was zip-tied and arrested on Monday, accused of engaging in an unlawful assembly outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center.
Bonin and about a dozen and a half other protesters were blocking an entrance to the facility because, in his words, the agency was “putting children in baby jails.”
Bonin and others with seemingly no respect for law enforcement locked arms, refused to disperse, and repeatedly chanted “Shut down ICE!”
You can add Bonin to the list of Democrats who think ICE, the law enforcement arm cracking down on illegal immigration, should be abolished.

These idiots actually think ICE is a terrorist organization and that they’re currently engaged in the civil rights movement of our time.
What about the civil rights of law-abiding Americans and legal immigrants? When will you fight for their rights, Mr. Bonin?

Bonin also used the “internment camps” analogy, a disgusting insult to actual survivors of internment camps.
The Trump administration “is putting children in baby jails” and “internment camps,” he said to reporters before he was hauled off. “Our government is inflicting knowing, intentional trauma upon the most innocent and the most vulnerable.”
Previously, the Democrat has called President Trump “evil” over his border enforcement policies, even labeling him the “kidnapper-in-chief.”

Bonin hailed his own actions in being arrested, describing them as “an instinctive act of parenthood, an urgent act of love, and a necessary act of patriotism.”
“When government rips kids from their parents’ arms, opens baby jails, & throws families seeking asylum into internment camps, our common humanity is at risk,” he claimed.
While Bonin is busy demonizing the good people at ICE, the Department of Homeland Security issued a statement of thanks for their work.
“Protecting our country is what we expect our law enforcement community to do every day, and the brave men and women of @CBP and @ICEgov are no different,” their social media account posted. “These selfless Americans go to work to protect their neighbors and their country.”
Democrats like Bonin oppose anything that makes the country safer, especially if it means less votes.
