Denver Mayor Michael Hancock Caught Harassing Female Security Officer

Democrats are apparently the ones leading the charge in the #MeToo movement, so they’ll be saddened to learn that Democratic Denver Mayor Michael Hancock has issued a public apology after he was accused of sending unprofessional and “scary” text messages to a woman who served as a member of his security team.

Detective Leslie Branch-Wise claims that Hancock sent her numerous inappropriate text messages while she worked for him between 2011 and 2012. Screenshots of the texts show Hancock commenting on her physical appearance. In one particularly provocative text, Hancock asked if Branch-Wise had ever taken a pole dancing class.

“Ok, so I just watched this story on women taking pole dancing classes,” Hancock apparently wrote. “Have you every (sic) taking one and why do women take the course? If not, have you ever considered taking one and why? Thoughts? Be careful! I’m curious;)!”

In another message, Hancock – who is a husband and father –  told Branch-Wise, “You made it hard on a brotha (sic) to keep it correct everyday.”

Branch-Wise said that the text messages made her feel like Hancock didn’t “respect” her “as an employee.” She also said that she felt she couldn’t tell anyone about the texts at the time. “It was a hard time in my life. I didn’t have anyone to tell, I didn’t have anyone to talk to. That’s my boss.”

“I just want people to know that I’m a woman, I have children, and I’m a victim of sexual harassment,” she added. “It made me physically sick. It was extremely scary. And I dealt with it at that time the best way that I could.”

Hancock issued a public apology in a video message. “Six years ago, when Detective Leslie Branch-Wise was on my detail, we became friends,” He said. “And I blurred the lines between being a friend and being a boss. Our text exchanges became too casual, too familiar, and last week I learned, after six years, that they hurt her and offended her….”

“I am here to accept the responsibility for that and to apologize.”

Will the liberal media lambaste Hancock for his actions? Not likely – and these texts aren’t even his first offense. In 2011, Hancock was linked to a Denver prostitution ring. Yet he was still elected, proving once again that Democrats get a pass when it comes to sexual deviancy.
