Flynn Gives In – Will Hand Over Business Documents to Senate

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn is prepared to release some of his business documents to the Senate intelligence committee, after initially invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

Flynn’s attorney’s had rejected the request for business records saying it was too broad and could jeopardize his client’s legal rights.

After narrowing the request, the records will be released.

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn will turn over some of his business records in response to subpoenas from the Senate Intelligence Committee.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Flynn may begin turning over the records as soon as next week.

Last week, the committee, which is investigating Russian meddling in the presidential campaign, subpoenaed business records of two of Flynn’s companies after the retired lieutenant general refused to turn over the requested documents.

Flynn stepped down after reports surfaced that he misled Vice President Mike Pence on discussions with Russian Ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, which took place during the presidential transition.

Flynn is accused of failing to disclose payments from Russian state-run television on his request for a security clearance. He also failed to register as a foreign agent while lobbying indirectly for Turkey.

The former National Security Adviser has insisted he “crossed no lines” in his discussion with Russia’s ambassador, and the crux of the problem is actually the steady stream of leaks to reporters based on classified information.

Sources have reported that the first batch of business documents will be delivered by early next week.

The media narrative has been that since Flynn won’t cooperate with the investigation, he must be guilty.

MSNBC host, Mika Brzezinsky, claimed that Flynn “is effectively admitting he probably committed a crime” using his own words.

Now that he’s cooperating, what will the new narrative be?
