On Monday night, President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn, officially resigned from his job following revelations that he misled Vice President Mike Pence about conversations he had with the Russian ambassador over sanctions levied against them by the Obama administration.
In the letter, Flynn acknowledged that “because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian Ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology.”

Mr. Flynn previously had denied that he had any substantive conversations with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak, and Mr. Pence repeated that claim in television interviews as recently as this month.
But on Monday, a former administration official said the Justice Department warned the White House last month that Mr. Flynn had not been fully forthright about his conversations with the ambassador. As a result, the Justice Department feared that Mr. Flynn could be vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow.
The White House said in the statement that it was replacing Mr. Flynn with retired Lt. Gen. Joseph K. Kellogg Jr. of the Army, a Vietnam War veteran, as acting national security adviser.

Since President Trump took office, his inner circle has repeatedly been forced to deal with leaks coming out of the White House.

Trump has struggled to contain leaks during his weeks-old administration. Reporters have unearthed extraordinary details from inside the White House, including contentious calls with foreign leaders and the president’s displeasure with a woman lampooning his press secretary on “Saturday Night Live.”
A White House aide told POLITICO last week that the administration has launched an investigation into leaks coming out of Washington. And Trump on Tuesday appeared to be echoing dialogue from this morning’s 8 a.m. hour of “Fox & Friends.”
Since President Trump took office, the liberal media has been out to destroy his administration by viciously attacking everything he and his aides have said, no matter how ridiculous. President Trump should be very concerned about disloyal members of his administration feeding stories to the press aimed at taking him down.
It seems that a day cannot go by without an unnamed source being quoted to disparage this White House and its agenda, and the president has every right to clamp down on unauthorized leaks being given to the liberal media.
