Bloomberg Makes Unexpected Comments About Sanctuary Cities on Morning Joe

Of all people, you would never expect Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to slam sanctuary cities, but he did Tuesday morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Bloomberg argued that cities just can’t start breaking the law because they don’t agree with it. He’s referencing New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, self-proclaimed sanctuary cities who have sworn to fight President Trump and Attorney General Sessions if they remove federal funding from cities harboring illegal aliens and not working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It’s their right to resist, but it’s also the government’s right to defund them.

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg slammed the idea of sanctuary cities in an appearance on Morning Joe on Tuesday morning.

“You cannot, Steve, have everybody be deciding which laws they obey,” Bloomberg said.

“The law is the law,” he added. “You should obey the law, and if you don’t like the law, get your legislative body to change the law.”

“Society breaks down if we can all decide what’s right and what’s wrong,” Bloomberg said. “You can’t do that. We have a system of laws, [you] have to live with it.”

Watch:

I have to say, I’m surprised such a major liberal would take this stance.

If cities like this were to get away with breaking the law, it would be anarchy. I am not from the stone age and I see what is going on with those cities. They want to protect illegals because they want the cheap labor and the votes.

Just wait until the trouble starts in those sanctuary cities and see how fast they run to Trump and beg to be rescued. It’s so sad they do not want to protect their own residents.

Were you taken aback by Bloomberg being against the actions of sanctuary cities? Did that change your view about him or is he still that liberal that doesn’t care about conservatives?
