Melania to Michelle Obama: Don’t Need Your Advice, I’m an ‘Independent Woman’

Melania Trump responded to Michelle Obama’s revelation that the First Lady ignored Obama’s offer for advice, saying she is a “strong and independent woman.”

The back and forth began when Mrs. Obama appeared in an interview that aired Sunday with ABC’s Robin Roberts, regarding her new memoir, Becoming.

Initially, Obama chose not to comment on Melania and her role in the White House, saying “I’d prefer not to, you know, speak on what she’s doing versus what I did.”

But being the bitter individual she is, Obama couldn’t help but portray Mrs. Trump in a negative light, claiming she offered advice to the new occupant of the White House, but was rejected.

It is nearly impossible to convey the disdain on Obama’s face when explaining to Roberts that she has never been contacted for advice.

Roberts: “I know that Laura Bush reached out to you and said, ‘If you need any help, I’m a phone call away.'”

Obama: “Yep, yep.”

Roberts: “You wrote about how and have talked about how you extended that same courtesy to Melania Trump. Has she reached out to you and asked for any help?”

Obama: “No, no she hasn’t.”

It’s at that point where the former Obama looks at Roberts, purses her lips, and raises her eyebrows as if to say, “can you believe she wouldn’t reach out to the queen?”

Melania’s response is perfect

Melania Trump could have taken the path of least resistance and ignored the ridiculous and petty complaint from Obama.

Instead, she hammered her in a statement, reminding Mrs. Obama that she can figure things out on her own, has her own trusted advisers if need be, and essentially concluding with ‘don’t call me, I’ll call you.’

Stephanie Grisham, Trump’s spokeswoman, issued a statement to CNN:

“Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way. When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”

Why would Melania ever reach out to Obama?

First off, why would Melania need advice from Michelle Obama? Sure, if she wants to ruin school lunches across America, or maybe if she wants to have potato sack races in the East Room, then maybe she could pick up the phone.

Even then, who wants to talk to a woman who has repeatedly admitted she loathes her husband, President Trump?

In Becoming, Obama complains about the lack of diversity amongst the crowd at Trump’s inauguration, admitting “I stopped even trying to smile.”

Additionally, Michelle dismissed a gift Melania presented to her on Inauguration Day, then lied about why she was rude upon accepting it. And she’s been out and about telling people that she, not Trump, is America’s “forever First Lady.”

Unless and until she wants advice on how to act like a classless narcissist, Melania would be best served to ignore her predecessor.

Melania is on a roll

The normally reserved First Lady has been on a bit of a roll lately, firing back at media lies, firing back at Michelle Obama, and even demanding the firing of Deputy National Security Advisor Mira Ricardel after some reported disagreements.

“It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” she said through a statement on Tuesday.

Further rumored disagreements with Melania have reportedly led to pressure on President Trump to fire White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Looks like she doesn’t need any advice on how to deal with being First Lady or handling any problems that come her way. Thanks, but no thanks, Michelle.
