Meghan McCain Rips Fauci For Chasing Celebrity Status – ‘He Clearly Wanted To Be A Kardashian’

On Friday’s episode of “The View,” Meghan McCain ripped into Dr. Anthony Fauci as she accused him of wanting to be a celebrity.

During a segment in which the panel discussed Fauci’s work emails that were just released, cohost Sara Haines claimed that the emails prove that he “wasn’t comfortable with the celebrity part” of his job and the “people who were trying to make it ‘Fauci Fever.’”

McCain, however, was not having any of it.

McCain Sounds Off

“I don’t think that people who are uncomfortable with celebrity and don’t want to be celebrities pose on the cover of InStyle Magazine and fashion spreads and on the cover of People Magazine,” McCain fired back, referring to Fauci’s December People cover as one of the magazine’s 2020 People of the Year, as well as his July InStyle digital cover and feature from last year.

“I’m sorry but if he just wanted to be a scientist part of the criticism of him going forward was that he clearly wanted to be a Kardashian as well.” she continued.

Not stopping there, McCain said that she holds a “different take” on Fauci, and that it’s been one of the more controversial elements of her time on the ABC talk show show over the past year. However, McCain went on to say that she believes this situation is bigger than Fauci.

“My understanding is that the Chinese government is testing viruses for other viruses which is something we don’t do in this country,” she said. “So there’s a hypothetical situation where an even more dangerous virus could be let out of a lab.”

McCain Doubles Down

McCain said that her biggest issue with the emails is the double standard when it comes to trying to find the origin of COVID-19.

“When this originally started people like Tom Cotten were writing op-eds and going on TV just raising questions and if you raise the question that, ‘hey, this might’ve come from the Chinese labs in Wuhan’ you were treated like you were Alex Jones with a tinfoil hat on your head and now you have Vanity Fair which is not a conservative publication by anybody’s definition writing huge profiles raising these questions and we have to understand where the virus originated from if we’re ever going to be able to god forbid face a threat like this going forward,” she added.

McCain ended her rant by calling for transparency from both Fauci and the government.

“There’s a huge crisis in this country with republicans and democrats questioning the legitimacy of our institutions and having a lack of faith in our government and the medical community at NIH and places like this because there just isn’t a lot of transparency,” she said. “If there’s nothing to hide then show us the proof and continue the investigation.”
