Meghan McCain Defends Tulsi Gabbard to The View Co-Hosts: She No ‘Russian Stooge’

Meghan McCain came to the defense of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard Thursday, when her fellow hosts on The View suggested the Hawaii congresswoman could be a “Trojan horse” helped along by Russian propagandists.

No, we’re not making this up.

Gabbard had a big moment during Wednesday night’s debate when she called out California Sen. Kamala Harris on her controversial record on criminal justice during her time as a California prosecutor.

‘Apologist’ for Assad?

After the debate, instead of addressing Gabbard’s criticisms head on, Harris mocked Gabbard’s low poll numbers and said she was an “apologist” for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

That cop-out narrative is what some of the women on The View went with.

“The Republicans like her, and I think she’s a real Trojan horse here because when you look at her record, in particular, she’s apologized for it but she was very anti-LGBTQ community,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “She also has praised Trump for meeting with Kim Jong Un three times.”

“That’s why they like her,” liberal host Joy Behar chimed in.

“Per an NBC News report, Russian propaganda machines favor Gabbard,” she continued. “When I look at that, I’m concerned she is attacking Harris and I’m concerned that she has any traction.”

That’s when McCain fired back, saying Gabbard landed a “really good blow” on Harris, and then laughed off the notion that the Hawaiian congresswoman is a Trojan horse as “just political posturing.”

This caused co-host Ana Navarro to observe that she may just be “paranoid,” but Gabbard has suddenly received support from those “who used to dislike her tremendously.”

‘Russian Stooge?’

“There is a lot of writings in Russia Today and Russian traffic around Tulsi,” Navarro said. “There is something going on. I suspect it’s not knowingly by her because I think she’s a decent human being who served this country, but I’m paranoid.”

McCain wondered if her co-hosts thought any Republican interested in Gabbard was being influenced  somehow by Russia, including herself.

“Nobody is saying you,” Navarro replied. “I’m talking about other people. Just because I’m making a reference, doesn’t mean it’s a reference to you.”

“I’m not supporting her,” McCain insisted. “I’m just saying she’s interesting, and the idea because she got a big hit on Kamala and now she’s a ‘Russian stooge’—”

Democrats Have Become the Biggest Conspiracy Nuts

Gabbard fairly and accurately described Harris’ terrible criminal justice record and now is being accused of being a tool for the Russians over it.

Does that many ANY sense?

Liberals have pretended so long that Russia had something to do with Donald Trump winning in 2016, that they apparently are now set on calling anything they don’t like the work of “Russia.”

Tulsi Gabbard did what you’re supposed to do in a debate – call out your opponents’ weaknesses.

If Democrats don’t like how weak Kamala Harris looked after the Hawaiian congresswoman got done with her, their problem is with the truth, not Tulsi Gabbard.
