McConnell Says Trump Has ‘No Chance’ of Being Removed

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, acknowledged that the Democrats have “no chance” of removing President Trump from office.

McConnell was also quick to point out that the impeachment sham is a highly partisan effort, while the realization that Trump’s actions don’t amount to high crimes and misdemeanors is actually bipartisan.

“The case is so darn weak coming from the House,” he told viewers in a massive understatement.

“We know how it’s going to end,” he added before definitively stating, “There’s no chance the president’s going to be removed from office.”

Democrats Could Bail

The Kentucky Republican noted that he expects some Democrats to run away from the Senate vote, likely to be held swiftly after a break in January.

The House is expected to conduct its vote next week.

“My hope is that there won’t be a single Republican who votes for either of these articles of impeachment and Sean, it wouldn’t surprise me if we got one or two Democrats,” McConnell predicted.

Don’t overlook Mitt Romey, Mitch. Democrats bailing, however, might just be a trend.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn admitted earlier this week that he expects to lose some Democrat votes due to the “divisive” nature of impeachment.

“I do believe that when it comes to something as divisive as impeachment, we have to leave members up to their own consciences,” said Clyburn. “We do expect to lose some.”

If the Mitch Fits, You Must Acquit

Reports surfaced on Thursday indicating McConnell has every intention of making sure President Trump is acquitted in the Senate.

CNN reported that two Republican Senators have said McConnell will push for a vote to acquit the President, rather than one to simply dismiss the charges.

Still, he better hunker down for a never ending battle.

Democrat Rep. Karen Bass recently pulled back the curtain on her colleagues, admitting they would be open to impeaching the President again should he win reelection.

The only way to stop this, voters, is to make sure the Republicans take back the House in 2020.
