It’s official. After weeks of pushing Republican leadership, conservative Republicans got their wish. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has postponed the August congressional recess for two weeks.

The reason for the delay is simple: Republicans need more time to come together to pass Trump’s agenda. They need to continue to dismantle Obama’s disastrous legacy, and, most importantly, finally repeal Obamacare!

Many Republicans have been urging leaders like McConnell to delay the August recess, or eliminate it entirely for this year. With Trump in the White House and Republicans controlling both houses of Congress, time is running out to pass a true America-first agenda. Republicans can’t lose their leverage. Their congressional majorities must be used to pass big-ticket items like tax reform and an infrastructure package.
And let’s hope this extra time is used so Republicans can put their differences aside and finally shove Obamacare in the dustbin of history where it belongs!
