McCarthy May Give Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar ‘Better’ Committee Assignments If GOP Takes Back Congress

Kevin McCarthy suggested he might give "better" committee assignments to Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar if Republicans win the House after the 2022 midterm elections.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested he might give “better” committee assignments to Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar if Republicans win the House after the 2022 midterm elections.

The California Republican made the remarks following an utterly ridiculous show put on by the Democrats to censure Gosar and remove him from committee assignments over a parody cartoon video.

A parody cartoon.

Gosar (R-AZ) was removed from the Committee on Oversight and Reform and the Natural Resources Committee.

The House stripped Greene (R-GA) in February from the Education and Labor Committee as well as the Budget Committee for ill-advised social media posts made prior to her election to office.

“They’ll have committees,” McCarthy vowed of Greene and Gosar. “They may have other committee assignments.”

In fact, he added, “They may have better committee assignments.”

Kevin McCarthy Gives Hope To Greene And Gosar Over Committee Assignments

Kevin McCarthy, in his comments, also expressed some level of solidarity with Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert, who in a speech on the House floor shredded Democrat lawmakers Ilhan Omar, Eric Swalwell, and Maxine Waters.

Of Omar (D-MN), Boebert referenced her funneling campaign funds to her husband and called her a member of the “Jihad Squad.”

Waters, Boebert said, “incited further violence in the streets” while Swalwell was mocked for “sleeping with the enemy,” a reference to his reported affair with a Chinese spy.

McCarthy seems to agree those three lawmakers need to be held accountable – especially with Democrats acting the way they are and censuring Republicans over every minor issue.

“This isn’t about threats, but it’s about holding people accountable,” McCarthy told reporters.

He did warn, however, “I think the majority is going to have to approve any of those members on the committees of which they can serve.”

Threatens To Remove Democrats

This isn’t the first time McCarthy has threatened to remove Omar from her committee assignments.

McCarthy has pointed out that Omar, on “numerous occasions,” made controversial remarks against America and her ally, Israel.

One, in particular, raised his ire in June, when Omar seemingly equated actions taken by the United States and Israel to those perpetrated by the Taliban and the terrorist group Hamas.

“We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity,” she said. “We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”

“I will promise you this,” the GOP leader said at the time.

“If we are fortunate enough to have the majority, Omar would not be serving on Foreign Affairs or anybody that has an anti-Semitic, anti-American view.”

If that were true, the entire ‘Jihad Sqaud’ would need to be censured and removed from their committees as well.
