Matt Gaetz Reveals Cuban-Born Son After Dem Accuses Republicans Of Not Understanding What It's Like To Raise Minority Children

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” alongside his adopted Cuban-born son Nestor following a heated exchange with Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA).

Richmond suggested his ‘all-white’ colleagues on the other side of the Congressional aisle had no understanding of what it takes to raise a minority child.

“You all are white men who have never lived in my shoes, and you do not know what it is like to be an African American male,” the congressman accused.

“And if you are opposed, let’s just have the vote. But please do not come into this committee and make a mockery of the pain that exists in my community,” he added.

Gaetz replied, “I appreciate your passion, are you suggesting none of us have non-white children?”

That’s when things truly got heated between the two.

Richmond Has the Race Card Blow Up In His Face

Despite declaring that he was “not about to get side-tracked about the color of our children,” Richmond did just that, playing the race card and insinuating he was more concerned about Gaetz’ own kids than he is.

“It is about black males, black people in the streets that are getting killed, and if one of them happens to be your kid, I am concerned about them, too,” Richmond shouted. “And clearly I am more concerned about him than you are.”

“You are claiming you have more concern for your family than I do?” Gaetz replied. “Who in the hell do you think you are? That is outrageous.”

“Was that a nerve?” Richmond taunted.

Gaetz replied, “You’re damn right that was a nerve.”

The Republican lawmaker later posted a tweet that might help explain why it touched a nerve.

Richmond and Liberals Should Be Embarrassed

Nestor and his father appeared with Tucker Carlson to discuss the exchange with Richmond.

“It is certainly offensive to have someone tell you that you don’t know what a certain experience is like when they know nothing about you,” Gaetz said. “Nestor is the light of my life. I couldn’t imagine loving him any more if he was my own flesh and blood.”

As with any matter on social media, liberals took the revelation that Gaetz has a minority son and proceeded to attack him with vile tweets. PJ Media covered them pretty extensively, but we have no intention of posting such garbage here.

Twitter, of course, will never take down those false, reprehensible accusations.

Nestor, meanwhile, was all class, explaining to Democrats that they are hypocrites for claiming to fight for equality while simultaneously dividing the country along racial lines.

“I think it’s unfair to tell someone that they don’t understand because of their racial color,” Nestor told Tucker.

But that is exactly what Democrats like Richmond do.
