WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 05: Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, answers brief questions from the media while boarding an elevator at the U.S. Capitol February 5, 2018 in Washington, DC. The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is scheduled to meet later today to vote on the release of the minority rebuttal of a memo released last week by their Republican counterparts relating the committeeÕs investigation of Russian influence in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Citing reports that Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) tried to secure compromising material on President Trump from a Ukrainian politician, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has demanded the Democrat’s removal from any future work on the Trump-Russia probe.

Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, was duped by a pair of Russian comedians who promised naked photos of Trump that had been seen by Vladimir Putin.

While the comedians described their prank as “completely absurd,” Schiff, despite protests that he knew it was bogus, fell hook, line, and sinker, even going so far as to arrange for staff to collect “classified” material for the FBI.

There is audio of the phone call and copies of emails exchanged to set up the meetings – seen here.

We’re honestly perplexed as to why there isn’t more outrage on this Schiff story. He believed he was taking a call from a foreign country to collect information about an American president. If ever there was evidence of an attempt at collusion, this is it.

Gaetz seemingly agrees with this stance, demanding Schiff recuse himself from any further inclusion in the Trump-Russia witchhunt.

“Adam Schiff should step aside as the lead Democrat on the Intel committee as a consequence of this scandal,” Gaetz said.

Schiff, through his actions, attempted to work with a foreign power in Ukraine to influence an American president’s administration. That is almost exactly what he’s investigating Trump for, except the latter involves Russia and an attempt to influence an election. You can’t have somebody investigating another when evidence suggests they engaged in the same exact act. It’d be like having OJ Simpson on the jury at a murder case.

“Schiff was off playing footsies with the Ukrainians, trying to get naked pictures of Donald Trump,” Gaetz added. “[Schiff] has gone from having an oversight responsibility to an actual principal in this investigation for engaging with ‘Ukrainians’.”

“We thought that was treason,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson said. “Adam Schiff told us it was.”
