The fire department of New York City is on the scene at a serious fire at Trump Tower in Manhattan. According to the department, they were called shortly after 7:00 a.m. Monday with a report of a fire on the top floor.

As you can see from the video below, aerial views show firefighters on the roof. Smoke is billowing from one corner of the high-rise. According to recent media reports, more than 126 firefighters responded to the scene.

The situation has gone viral on social media, as smoke continues to rise from the building. Wow!

So far, two injuries have been reported, one firefighter and one civilian. The fire is said to be under control. The building houses many businesses and luxury apartments. Trump Tower has been protected by heavy security since President Trump took office.

First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron lived in the New York City residence for the first few months of Trump’s presidency. But now they have officially moved into the White House.

UPDATE: As Fox News reports:

The building was not evacuated. A firefighter sustained minor injuries when debris fell on him. The building’s engineer suffered smoke inhalation.

Trump’s son Eric Trump thanked the New York City fire department for the “incredible job” containing the flames before it spread.

“There was a small electrical fire in a cooling tower on the roof of Trump Tower,” he tweeted. “The New York Fire Department was here within minutes and did an incredible job. The men and women of the #FDNY are true heroes and deserve our most sincere thanks and praise!”

Eric Trump is right! The firefighters of New York quickly responded to the scene and bravely took action before the fire became even worse. Injuries have been minimized and the situation is under control.
