‘Make the Gospel Great Again’ Trump Billboard Is Turning Heads

A massive billboard in St. Louis County, Missouri, depicting President Trump with the caption “Make the Gospel Great Again” has drivers doing a double take.

Aside from featuring a variation of Trump’s signature campaign slogan, the billboard contains the biblical quote from John 1:14, “The Word Became Flesh …”

The phrasing and placement of the scripture, which discusses God’s word becoming human in the form of Jesus, left some wondering if the intent was to equate the President to the Son of Man.

“I didn’t know what to make of it,” Sherri Chisholim told KMOV. “I didn’t know what message it was trying to send but I felt like it was somewhat offensive, I didn’t know if they were trying to equate Donald Trump to Jesus.”

At present, nobody has come forward to state they paid for the billboard and the owner has refused to share such information.

Making the Gospel great again

While comparing Trump to Jesus, if that is the intent behind this billboard, is never a good idea.

However, there are a plethora of signs amongst this administration showing that this President is indeed making the Gospel great again.

In August of 2017, The Political Insider reported on weekly Bible studies being conducted in the White House, with top-level cabinet members in attendance.

The study groups had been attended by such members of the administration as Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to name a few.

The news prompted atheist groups to denounce the White House for hosting Bible studies and called the actions “illegal.”

“If those officials want privacy, the solution is pretty damn simple: Study the Bible in your private capacity, not in your official capacity and at your government desk,” The Freedom From Religion Foundation pouted. “Do it on your time, not the taxpayers’. In short, get off your knees and get to work.”

The group said these studies create a “serious state-and-church concern.”

If atheists are upset, then Trump truly is making the gospel great again.

Church celebrates Trump

Whatever religious group created this billboard, it isn’t the first time we’ve seen a church celebrate President Trump and his philosophy.

Last July, a church choir from Dallas, Texas, performed a song called ‘Make America Great Again’ at the ‘Celebrate Freedom Rally‘ and it caught the attention of a very important music critic – President Trump himself.

The song contained lyrics such as “Lift the torch of freedom all across the land” and “following the vision to make her proud and grand;” two very distinct concepts that had been all but eliminated during Trump’s predecessor’s time in office.
