Kimmel Responds To Backlash Over Deceptive Pence Video, Uses ‘Apology’ To Slam Trump

Kimmel Pence Apology

Jimmy Kimmel “apologized” for airing a deceptive video of Vice President Mike Pence, by attacking Trump supporters and the President himself.

Kimmel: I Was Subject To “An Outpouring Of Venom” For Posting Video

On his show on Thursday night, Kimmel showed a clip of Vice President Pence delivering boxes of PPEs to a healthcare facility in Alexandria, Virginia. At the end of the clip, Pence can then be heard saying “well can I carry the empty ones, just for the camera?” Kimmel leaped onto this, claiming this was all just for show.

“Mike Pence pretending to carry empty boxes of PPE’s into a hospital is the perfect metaphor for who he is and what he’s doing — a big box of nothing delivering another box of nothing,” he joked.

The video then went viral, however, it was shown that the Vice President was clearly joking, and was pointed out as such by multiple Twitter users, including other mainstream journalists.

Kimmel then responded to the criticism that he had then received by “apologizing” in the slimiest, and most sarcastic way possible.

“It turns out there were 29 minutes of [the footage] on C-Span that apparently indicate he was joking about carrying the empty boxes for the camera, which again I didn’t know because I don’t have the mental endurance it requires to watch Mike Pence deliver boxes for 29 minutes on C-Span,” Kimmel said, adding that the bottom line was “I was wrong; he was joking. I didn’t know, I made a mistake, and when I found out I was wrong, I acknowledged it by taking the video down and tweeting an apology — of sorts — to the best of my ability.”

If he had stopped there, it would have been just about acceptable, but no. Kimmel had to continue, and instead, bashed the President and his supporters. He claimed that he was subject to “an outpouring of venom” from Trump suppporters, who supposedly wished death on his family.

“There were hundreds of horrible, hateful, sometimes violent, Twitter and Facebook posts because I showed what they kept calling a doctored video, which was not a doctored video by the way. We didn’t do anything to it. We didn’t doctor the video,” Kimmel argued, ignoring that lying by ommission is still lying.

Cut The Cable – Don’t Support Leftist Content!

Kimmel argued that he should really be apologising for “stepping on [the Trump administration’s] toes,” because “spreading misinformation is their thing,” and then demanded an apology for a laundry list of “peversions of decency and democracy:”

We would like an apology for: separating thousands of migrant children from their parents, inviting the Taliban to Camp David, siding with Vladimir Putin over US intelligence, calling neo-Nazis “very fine people,” using campaign money to pay off a porn star, mocking a 16 year old climate activist, mocking Christine Blasey Ford, obstruction of justice, ignoring warnings on Coronavirus, downplaying the dangers of coronavirus, mishandling the coronavirus, we still don’t have tests for the coronavirus, why are we opening the country when we have no tests for coronavirus, there are about 15,000 more. But let’s start with apologizing for those and we’ll get to the rest.

Kimmel’s “apology” basically amounted to a Democratic campaign attack ad on the President, with no admittance of guilt other than what they were forced to say. I’m sure if most people reading this article had messed up in public, and knew they had, they would hold their hands up and admit it. But not Kimmel! He can’t resist another chance to slam the bad orange man, no matter how slimy it makes him look!

Kimmel’s behavior is another reason to cut the cord and stop paying for cable, if you haven’t already.
