Kid Rock has made a decision: He’s NOT running for Senate.

On Tuesday, the Michigan rocker emphatically told Howard Stern that he has no intention to seek political office in his home state.”F–k no I’m not running for senate,” he said. “Who couldn’t figure that out?”

Despite Kid Rock’s rather flippant dismissal of the idea, he was legitimately mulling a Senate run; and he said it was both a blessing and a curse. “It’s the worst advice I ever gave myself, but it’s been the most creative thing I’ve ever done,” he said. “And I’ve gotten to see everyone’s true colors.”

Rumors of a Kid Rock Senate run first began in July, when he tweeted that the website kidrockforsenate.com was real.

At one point, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Elizabeth Warren even sent an email to supporters about Kid Rock’s potential candidacy. And in a hypothetical match-up between Rock and 16-year incumbent Debbie Stabenow, Rock led by a 30-26% margin.

Despite the fact that he won’t be running for political office, however, Rock remains very outspoken about his personal politics. In September, he posted a lengthy Facebook post in which he railed against the recent National Anthem protests: “To be clear – F*** ANYONE who takes a knee or sits during our national anthem!”

I can’t really say I blame Kid Rock for not wanting to seek political office; but he’d probably have a good chance of winning.
