Bullitt County Sheriff Donnie Tinnell said Johnson used a gun to kill himself on a bridge near Greenwell Ford Road in Mt. Washington, Ken., according to WDRB.
WDRB reporter Jason Riley later confirmed the report in a Wednesday night tweet.
Bullitt County sheriff says Rep. Dan Johnson shot and killed himself. It happened on Greenwell Ford Road. His body was found on the bridge.

Johnson was under pressure from both parties to resign his House seat, but he refused and continued to deny allegations, according to a report in The Washington Post.
“This allegation concerning this lady, this young girl, absolutely has no merit, these are unfounded accusations, totally,” Johnson said, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
WDRB obtained a Facebook message Johnson posted Wednesday evening just before 5 p.m., in which he pushed back against the accusations and invoked God several times.

Johnson was accused of molesting the girl on New Year’s Eve 2012 after consuming a large amount of alcohol, according to court documents cited by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting. He was alleged to have kissed her and forced his hand down her pants while she repeatedly asked him to stop.
