When CBS News host Norah O’Donnell told Kamala Harris that she is “considered the most liberal United States senator” during a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, and the Democratic vice presidential nominee struggled to respond.
O’Donnell said to Harris, “You’re very different in the policies that you’ve supported in the past. You’re considered the most liberal United States senator.”

Harris Comes Across As Awkward And Uneasy Over Most Liberal Senator Ranking
Harris replied, “I—somebody said that and it actually was Mike Pence on the debate stage.”
Harris let out a laugh and smiled hard, seeming to treat the categorization as comical.
Host O’Donnell was not smiling or laughing.
“Actually, the nonpartisan GovTrack has rated you as the most liberal senator,” O’Donnell said. “You supported the Green New Deal; you supported Medicare for All; you’ve supported legalizing marijuana.”
“Joe Biden doesn’t support those things,” O’Donnell noted.
Watching 60 Minutes, you see the reason why Kamala Harris hasn't done a press conference since becoming Joe Biden's running mate.
Harris can't handle even basic questioning.

Harris Non-Answers Whether Or Not She Will Try To Push Far-Left Policies In Biden Administration
Then Harris was asked a questions many Americans have no doubt wondered.
O’Donnell pressed, “So are you gonna bring the policies, those progressive policies that you supported as senator, into a Biden administration?”
That’s when Harris basically gave a non-answer.
“What I will do, and I promise you this, and this is what Joe wants me to do, this was part of our deal,” Harris stammered.
“I will always share with him my lived experience as it relates to any issue that we confront,” she said. “And I promised Joe that I will give him that perspective and always be honest with him.”
Wow. Kamala Harris is coming across terribly on 60 minutes. So smug, dismissive, and condescending.

Host O’Donnell Keeps Pushing
O’Donnell, to her credit, pressed again.
“And is that a socialist or progressive perspective?,” O’Donnell asked.
Harris, laughing again, responded, “No. No. It is the perspective of a woman who grew up a black child in America, who was also a prosecutor, who also has a mother who arrived here at the age of 19 from India.”
Harris continued to laugh off the question, adding, “Who also, you know, likes hip hop. Like, what do you want to know?”
She awkwardly laughed again.
O’Donnell then put her line of questioning in context.
O’Donnell said, “I want to give you the opportunity to address this because at the Republican National Convention, President Trump made the case that Joe Biden is gonna be nothing more than a Trojan horse for socialist policies, for the left wing of the Democratic Party.”
The CBS News asked Harris – again – point blank, “Are you going to push those policies when you’re vice president of the United States?”
On 60 minutes, Biden says he believes Kamala Harris would be ready to step in and become President if needed.
She was ranked the most liberal senator in 2019.
The idea of her as President is terrifying.

Harris Keeps Dodging
And Harris sidestepped again.
“I am not gonna be confined to Donald Trump’s definition of who I or anybody else is,” Harris non-answered. “And I think America has learned that that would be a mistake.”
Then O’Donnell hit the same overall point about Harris’ potential far-left agenda – AGAIN.
“So just to button that up, because you have fought for Medicare for All,” O’Donnell said. “That’s not something that Joe Biden supports.”
Earth to Kamala Harris, GovTack ranked you the most liberal Senator.

O’Donnell continued, “If you become vice president, would you say to a president Biden, ‘You know what? Let’s—we should really be pushing for Medicare for All, not a public option. That’s just not gonna do it. That’s not my value?”
Harris replied, “I would not have joined the ticket if I didn’t support what Joe was proposing.”
So she doesn’t support her old far-left positions now?
She continued to dance around the question of how far-left she might push a Biden administration.
But kudos to CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell for at least asking the question.
