Less than two weeks after winning the Emmy for best leading actress in a comedy series, “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has announced on Twitter that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.
In her announcement, Louis-Dreyfus – who’s wearing a pink vagina hat in her Twitter profile picture – chose to politicize her diagnosis and use it to lobby for universal health care.

Liberals on Twitter applauded Louis-Dreyfus’s decision to use her diagnosis to push the progressive health care agenda.
Few people could get diagnosed with cancer and immediately think of others instead of themselves.

Prayers to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on a speedy recovery. 1 in 8 women get breast cancer, that’s why we must fight for universal healthcare & women’s healthcare options like Planned Parenthood. #CancerSucks

Using a cancer diagnosis to make a political point about health care seems like odd timing. But then again, liberals are always politicizing even the most sensitive moments. It’s sad, really.
“Veep” recently announced that the upcoming 7th season will be the last for the popular HBO show. HBO issued a statement of support following Louis-Dreyfus’s announcement:
“Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time. We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of ‘Veep.'”
Louis-Dreyfus’s politics aside, no one should ever have to go through a battle with cancer. Louis-Dreyfus is one of the best comedic actresses of our time, and we wish her a speedy recovery.
