Another Problematic Blog Post By MSNBC’s Joy Reid Uncovered

Not like there will be any consequences, but even more embarrassing blog posts from Joy Reid’s old blog have been unearthed.

Last month there was controversy after some internet sleuths began going through an archive of her old blog, uncovering dozens of homophobic blog posts, which you wouldn’t expect from a self-proclaimed progressive that has an MSNBC show (though it’s been said that if liberals didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all). In another blog post, she defends Donald Trump during his lengthy feud with Rosie O’Donnell, and can’t get over how “kick ass funny” Trump is. Oh, how her tune has changed.

Reid responded to the unearthed posts by blaming Russian hackers for going into her blog and editing old posts. That excuse made no sense because it was through the internet archive “Wayback Machine” that Reid’s posts were accessed. In other words, Reid would’ve had to have been hacked by the Russians continuously over the years without having ever noticed, if her claims were to be believed.

No reasonable person did, including probably her employer, but none of that seems to matter.

According to the Daily Wire:

Yet another controversial post has emerged in which Reid promotes the 9/11 “truther” conspiracy theory. In what SFGate notes is another revelation that will put “additional pressure” on NBC News to fire Joy Reid, “especially in the wake of ABC firing sitcom star Roseanne Barr,” a blog post by Reid links to and promotes a “truther” film co-produced by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of InfoWars alleging that the 9/11 terror attacks were carried out by the U.S. government rather than al Qaeda terrorists.

In a post first reported by BuzzFeed, Reid cites the Jones-produced documentary “Loose Change 9/11” released in 2005 as part of a series which peddles the “truther” conspiracy theory.

Reid’s old blog (“Reidblog”) from her time as a local broadcaster in south Florida, linked to a web video of the film in March 2006, and added this comment: “The fundamental question is: do you believe the official story of 9/11? If you do, great. If you don’t, then everything that happened after that is called into serious question. Even if you’re agnostic, or you tend to believe that al-Qaida attacked the World Trade Center and Pentagon and that the government had no warning such a thing could happen, it’s worth taking a second look.”

Loose Change was a galvanizing force in the 9/11 truth movement – and also complete nonsense. In fact, so popular was the film that it was discovered among the 470,000 files recovered from Osama Bin Laden’s compound following his assassination. One can only wonder if Osama saw the film as ridiculous – or trying to take credit for his atrocity.

The magazine “Popular Mechanics” published a full issue rebutting the film (and similar conspiracies) back in 2007, and the teenager behind the film (now in his thirties) won’t even say on the record if he believes the claims made in his documentary anymore.

We can only wonder if Joy Reid still does.
