Joy Behar Admits Double Standard With Biden Classified Documents On ‘The View’

Joy Behar openly admitted on Tuesday that there is a double standard in how Joe Biden and Donald Trump are handled on ‘The View’ and in the media at large. The latest example surrounds the discovery of classified documents from Biden’s Vice Presidency in a private office.

Reports first broke this week that Biden’s personal lawyers had reported finding classified materials in his office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, a “think tank” at the University of Pennsylvania where Biden was an honorary professor from 2017 to 2019, back in November. 

While it might seem like an eternity, Trump was the in the spotlight for his handling of classified documents not that long ago.

Let’s look at how the media, politicians, and even the public reacted to the mishandling of classified documents by Trump v. Biden.

Trump FBI Raid for Classified Documents

You might recall that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was raided in August 2022. The FBI raid was unprecedented and executed on a DOJ search warrant on referral from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) related to its effort to collect materials the President had taken from the White House.

In fact, President Biden himself said it was “irresponsible” for Trump to have classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate just a few short months ago.

Hillary Clinton – who has a black belt in mishandling classified data – also weighed in on the Trump raid, declaring, “No one is above the law, and the rule of law in a democracy … has to be our standard.”

Ironically, Clinton made these comments to Joy Behar in September 2022 while appearing on ‘The View” with her daughter Chelsea.

President and Vice President Are Not the Same

While the media and Democrats continue to downplay the significance of the incident, CNN reports that the documents are from Biden’s tenure as Vice President under Obama and relate to sensitive global topics including “Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom.”

Aside from the potentially global implications of the subject matter, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene highlights another key difference.

Only the President has power to declassify documents. Greene suggests the fact Biden removed these documents from the White House as Vice President is an offense that neither DOJ nor NARA can ignore.

Despite this key difference, prominent liberals continue to excuse Biden.

The Justice Department is now reviewing the classified documents found at the President’s Penn Biden Center office. 

Will FBI Now Raid Biden Residence Like Trump’s?

Given the reported subject matter of the classified documents and the fact these documents were taken by a Vice President, should the public expect a similar response by the DOJ?

“When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House?” President Trump asked on the Truth Social media platform. “These documents were definitely not declassified.”

Why The Delay?

The discovery was reported to the National Archives on November 2nd.

Which means this new report of classified document mishandling came hot on the heels of Trump’s high profile FBI raid. Yet this discovery took more than two months to hit the news cycle?

November 2nd is also days before the 2022 midterms. This left some to question if the report was intentionally kept out of the news until after those critical midterms.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) said of the matter, “Those classified documents were known before the election, and it was intentionally concealed to the Americans. I think that’s wrong.”

Joy Behar Classified Document Double Standard At ‘Feet of Donald Trump’

But it’s ultimately ‘The View’ host Joy Behar who best demonstrates this double standard. Behar may ramble and even flub GOP Rep. Byron Donalds when trying to smear him, but she’s got her hypocrisy on full display.

In response to Whoopi Goldberg, Behar owns that “there are differences in what happened.” Only to then declare that a double standard exists because Trump is a “liar” and Biden deserves “the benefit of the doubt.”

“We all know that Trump is a liar and a thief. We know that. So it’s not that big a jump to say that he obstructed and he lied. We don’t think Biden is a liar and a thief, so we give him the benefit of the doubt.”

Ironically, the overzealous host contends that it will be conservatives who “spin” this incident and lie “just like that Donaldson person.” Joy Behar doesn’t even know Byron Donalds’ name but yet feels entitled to defame him on national television.

Behar ends her soapbox with, “You can put that at the feet of Donald Trump.” 

After Behar’s blatant admission, co-host Sarah Haines tried to downplay the existence of a double standard.

“Well, everything about [Donald Trump] was unprecedented. So, I think when you look intention matter.”
