John McCain will soon no longer be with us anymore. And if the latest report is to be believed, it would seem that he’ll be remembered as even more of an opponent of grassroots conservatives than previously known. John McCain is the quintessential establishment Republican. And it looks like his staff took specific actions to preserve his status along with the other congressional seats of his fellow RINOs.

According to new documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, a staffer from John McCain’s Senate office actually encouraged the IRS to ruin grassroots non-profit groups and make them financially unsound.

Here’s the damning revelation:

Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen. John McCain’s former staff director and chief counsel on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee, Henry Kerner, urged top IRS officials, including then-director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner, to “audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous.”  Kerner was appointed by President Trump as Special Counsel for the United States Office of Special Counsel.

The explosive exchange was contained in notes taken by IRS employees at an April 30, 2013, meeting between Kerner, Lerner, and other high-ranking IRS officials. Just ten days following the meeting, former IRS director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner admitted that the IRS had a policy of improperly and deliberately delaying applications for tax-exempt status from conservative non-profit groups.

This is highly revealing. Many of the grassroots groups targeted by the IRS were small grassroots political groups that advocated for firing incumbent politicians – especially groups who targeted Republicans. (RELATED: New Lois Lerner Emails Revealed – And They’re Shocking!).

This new document seems to imply that John McCain’s staff had a hand in encouraging this behavior, which would essentially lock many Americans out of the political process by weakening their ability to organize on behalf of their political beliefs.

So now it has to be asked: Was this staffer acting on behalf of John McCain? Give McCain’s history of mocking and deriding Republicans elected via direct grassroots efforts, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn if that was the case.
