Something’s wrong with Jack Burkman.
The private investigator has been assaulted twice this year, once back in January, and another time just a few days ago.
Burkman is best known as a Republican lobbyist who led his own research investigation into the mysterious killing of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.
Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller reports:
A former Marine, who claims to have worked as a special agent with the Department of Energy, has been charged with shooting and running over Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman, who conducted a controversial investigation of former DNC staffer Seth Rich’s murder.
Kevin Doherty, 46, was charged Monday with Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and two counts of Malicious Wounding, according to a press release from the Arlington, Va, Co. police department.

Burkman was supposedly retrieving evidence from an FBI whisleblower as part of what may have been another investigation. He was meeting the individual at a Marriott parking garage located in Rosslyn, Virginia, just miles from D.C.
It appears that Doherty was actually luring Burkman there for an attack, which he was caught and charged for.
It turns out that Doherty had worked with Burkman on the Rich case, but was fired not too long into the investigation. Burkman told The Washington Post after the attack: “He became somewhat angry because he thought the Profiling Project belonged to him. I just figured the matter was closed. But what happened is, I guess, he was simmering and simmering and simmering.”
You can say that again.
Thankfully, Doherty, who is clearly not a stable individual, has been charged for his violent actions.
Burkman himself has had no shortage of controversy, especially after Rich’s family fired him from his investigation into their son’s death. Burkman infamously suggested that Russians may have played a role in Rich’s murder.
