Media Comparing Ivanka Trump’s Personal Email Use to Hillary’s – Here’s Why They Shouldn’t

Ivanka Trump used a personal email account in 2017 to conduct government business, drawing comparisons to the high profile private server of Hillary Clinton.

The Washington Post reports that the President’s daughter sent emails to aides and cabinet members on her personal email account, something they claim is “in violation of federal records rules.”

Media outlets immediately seized on the revelation, hyperventilating at the opportunity to attack Trump – who heavily criticized Hillary Clinton for her private, secret server throughout the 2016 campaign.

The President’s nickname for the former Secretary of State, ‘Crooked Hillary,’ was based in part on her use of a private email server.

Liberal media hysterically compares Ivanka and Hillary

The natural inclination for a pro-Hillary media was to immediately draw comparisons between Ivanka’s emails and Hillary’s. CNN:

Trump’s usage of a private email account will bring comparisons to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose usage of a private email server instead of a government email account during her time in office was a central part of President Donald Trump’s campaign against her in 2016.

Trump’s attorney and ethics counsel, Abbe Lowell, said “Ms. Trump sometimes used her personal account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family.”

Surely the media, who bought Hillary’s excuse that she simply used a private email server for wedding planning and yoga scheduling purposes, will accept this and move on.

After you’re done laughing, it remains important to point out the glaring differences between Ivanka and Hillary.

Fundamental differences

“Did she construct her email account with the obvious purpose of doing business to avoid disclosure?” Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro puzzled? “Or set up a private server to that end?”

One of many questions from actual reasonable journalists who sought not to jump to easy, unintelligent conclusions.

Clinton sent classified material over her private server, placing sensitive information in the wrong hands and even putting sources at risk.

Additionally, there seems to be no indication Ivanka tried to hide the emails. She did not use Bleach Bit. Or hammers. Nor did she delete tens of thousands of emails. All of the communications are accounted for, in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.

Is Ivanka in trouble?

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for her attorney, indicated Trump had already “turned over all her government-related emails months ago so they could be stored permanently with other White House records.”

This narrative that Ivanka did the same thing as Hillary needs to be put to rest immediately.

If Ivanka violated rules of federal record keeping, let’s see what happens. Our understanding is that only Democrats can get away with such actions. But perhaps the precedent to turn a blind eye has already been set.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the Hillary rule protects Ivanka from any legal action?
