A former top intelligence official who signed the infamous letter portraying the Hunter Biden laptop story as ‘Russian disinformation’ admits that he and others knew the contents “had to be real” but they chose to sign on anyway.
Douglas Wise made the stunning but not wholly unexpected remarks during an interview with The Australian.
“All of us figured that a significant portion of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible,” the former senior CIA operations officer acknowledged.
Wise proceeded to lay out a defense that the letter never explicitly stated they had proof of the disinformation claims, though the insinuation was quite obvious and the media of course left out any nuance in their attempt to help Joe Biden defeat President Trump.
In other words, it was itself a disinformation campaign, only perpetrated by Americans against the American people.
“The letter said it had the earmarks of Russian deceit and we should consider that as a possibility,” he claimed. “It did not say Hunter Biden was a good guy, it didn’t say what he did was right and it wasn’t exculpatory, it was just a cautionary letter.”
It wasn’t “just a cautionary letter,” of course.
Just a cautionary letter. That’s what they want you to think. The ‘intel’ community thinks you’re too stupid to pick up on the fact that this was in and of itself a deliberate disinformation campaign.
Despite an alleged ‘intelligence’ official being completely wrong about the intelligence, Mr. Wise has no regrets about spreading deep state misinformation.
Wise insists he “(does not) regret signing” the letter “because the context is important.”
The context is important, but facts be damned apparently.
The reality is the 51 ‘intel officials’ who signed onto the letter had no way of knowing and could not prove the laptop wasn’t real from the onset.
They spread that message anyway, even going so far as to pressure social media companies like Twitter and Facebook.
Rather than Big Tech and legacy media asking the intel community to prove their accusations, they all responded essentially with, ‘If you say so,’ and tried to hide it from the American people.
They interfered with an election.
Wise was one of over 50 intelligence officials who claimed just before the 2020 presidential election that a New York Post bombshell regarding the President’s son’s laptop had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former CIA Directors Mike Hayden, John Brennan, and Leon Panetta, all signed the letter.
While the media has reluctantly and slowly confirmed the authenticity of the contents of the laptop years after the fact, none of these individuals has ever apologized for misleading voters and tampering with an American election.
Wise wasn’t about to break the mold. In fact, he symbolizes a new shift in the tactic of doubling down on a completely bogus claim and a hoax concocted by the intel community and spread by the media.
Another former CIA officer, David Priess, was given a platform recently to offer an apology on Fox News and instead doubled down.
Priess, author of the book titled – I kid you not – How to Get Rid of a President, was challenged by host Bret Baier but took the same route in claiming they never explicitly stated they had proof it was Russian disinformation.
Wise initially refused to comment on the fact that he and these other intel officials blatantly deceived. But now he has no issue admitting as much. Why? Because the likelihood of them ever being held accountable is slim to none, and they achieved their goal of deposing Trump.
It is one of the biggest scandals in modern American history. And they don’t regret their actions.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has vowed to subpoena the intel officials involved with the letter.
“Those 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was all wrong — was Russia collusion — many of them have a security clearance,” said McCarthy.
“Why did they sign it?” he continued. “Why did they lie to the American public?”
Will McCarthy follow through on that threat?
The intel community, media, and Democrat party are all blatantly opposed to doing what is right and more interested in maintaining power.
And they’ll most certainly keep on doing it until somebody is punished for their misdeeds.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.

P O S TRAITORS. Prison is not enough for you. May you and your progeny rot in hell.
Hunter Biden is not a government employee; good Americans don’t give a crap.
Is that all that GOP has? Investigating Hunter??
How about infrastructure? Immigration? Taxes? Healthcare? Pandemic? National debt? Racism?
Jeez
All 51 should lose their pension money and retirement money. Since they failed to uphold the laws of the CONSTITUTION. They all deserve 20 years in a prison
When any one of these deceitful signers states "it had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation," it would be nice if just ONE person asks the signer to GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF AN "EARMARK"! Every so-called journalist and/or interviewer just lets that earmark explanation go as if that's a real thing that they all somehow magically recognize!
Tell me it isn't true. Intell officials claiming to know something that they didn't really know? How does that differ from claiming not to know something that they really know? Does that mean that "intell" personnel in Biden's doj are synonymous with "liars" ? I thought having intelligence was somewhat comparable with having knowledge. If the the intell personnel know what they don't know or don't know what they know, what are they doing to earn their paychecks?
