Illegal Immigrant Calls 911 to Report Trespasser, Now Faces Deportation

An illegal immigrant in Washington state called local police to report a trespasser and found himself in custody of federal immigration officials.

Apparently, when trespassers call to report other trespassers, they too are bound by laws. Well, at least they are under the Trump Administration.

Thirty-two-year-old Wilson Rodriguez contacted police early last Thursday morning when he saw someone trespassing on his property and looking into his car and house.

An hour later, Rodriguez was being escorted by police to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office.

Authorities said there was no probable cause to arrest the trespasser but discovered Rodriguez had “an outstanding warrant issued” by ICE.

So, lo and behold, they enforced the law.

“They hand delivered him right to their office and from there he was processed and taken to the Northwest Detention Center, one of the largest in the country,” Rodriguez attorney Luis Cortes said. “He’s being held there now without bond. ICE has refused to release him.”

Before you give this police department too much credit, however, it should be noted that while they followed the law in this instance, they vowed to not work with ICE in the future.

“Officers confirmed with the issuing agency that the warrant was valid and transferred the individual with the warrant” over to ICE, a statement read.

They followed that up by saying the chief of police had issued a directive that “going forward, officers will not be responsive to administrative warrants issued” by ICE, “nor will it collaborate with the agency.”

Naturally, the liberal media followed suit, already shaping the narrative on this case by describing Rodriguez as nothing more than an immigrant, sans the word ‘illegal,’ and fretting that illegals will be hesitant to call the police when they see a crime.

NBC reported that this was “a case that advocates believe could make both documented and undocumented immigrants hesitant to report crimes in the future.”

Hate to break it to you, NBC, but illegal immigrants are already hesitant to report crimes – specifically the one they committed when entering the country illegally.

What do you think of this case? Were the police justified in detaining the illegal immigrant? Share your thoughts below!
