91-Year-Old Blind Veteran Howard Banks Assaulted By Thugs After They Vandalize His American Flag

World War II veteran Howard Banks was injured as he attempted to prevent someone from taking down his American flag. What’s worse is Banks is legally blind so he couldn’t provide a description of the assailants.

What in the heck is wrong with people these days attacking the elderly and trying to steal their American flags? This crime is disgusting and despicable.

I wonder what the “vandals” would do if the next time they were greeted by a group of younger veterans who disapprove of their actions? I wish I had the money to set up a camera at this man’s home.

There are way too many thugs out there and no respect for our seniors, our veterans, or our flag. They just want everything free and don’t care about older people that built our country.

Banks said the vandals didn’t touch his U.S. Marine Corps flag, but did toss his ‘God Bless All Police’ sign across the yard.

He told responding officers that his flags have been vandalized in the past. Someone reportedly cut them down, shredded the American flag and threw the U.S. Marine flag in the ditch, but he never reported the crimes.

He is legally blind so he was not able to provide a good description of the suspects. He said he heard more than one person running away.

Watch the story here:

Can you believe this? God, please protect this veteran. I’m sorry this happened to you, Mr. Banks. You deserve a medal of honor not to be attacked like this. Forgive them and be at peace. Remember all the good things in your life and enjoy what you have left.

God, please let there be justice done when they find these thugs.

As a veteran, I am angry this happened to Mr. Banks. I will continue to pray for him and hope these thugs get picked up and put away for a long time.

Thank goodness these Marines went to honor Mr. Banks:

One marine who visited Banks commented: “You know, first, you start messing with the American flag, I get real hot under the collar. And then, when I found out that they yanked the Marine Corps flag down, that made my bottom spicy.”

I love seeing our men and women in uniform defending one of their own. It makes me feel pride as both a veteran and an American.
