New federal data confirms that the Department of Homeland Security released almost 8,000 illegal aliens trying to enter the U.S. in the last week.
Breitbart News reports that catch and release numbers reveal that DHS has released “about 7,935 border crossers and illegal aliens” over the last seven days.
“The catch and release process often entails federal immigration officials busing border crossers into nearby border cities and dropping them off with the promise that they will show up for their immigration and asylum hearings, sometimes years later,” Breitbart notes. “The overwhelming majority of border crossers and illegal aliens are never deported from the country once they are released into the U.S.”
Breitbart reports, “Since December 21, 2018, DHS has released:
- 13,200 border crossers into the San Diego, California, area
- 23,700 border crossers into the Phoenix, Arizona, area
- 40,600 border crossers into the El Paso, Texas, area
- 56,000 border crossers into the San Antonio, Texas, area

“In total, since the end of last year, DHS has released about 133,500 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. — a population more than double the population of Portland, Maine, and nearly triple the population of Galveston, Texas. Current data suggests that DHS releases more than 1,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. every day,” Breitbart reports.

This is an astounding number, despite the fact that virtually every Democratic 2020 White House hopeful continues to pretend that there is no illegal immigration problem and no crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
President Trump has made every attempt to address this problem, with not only Democrats but many in his own party fighting him every step of the way.
A country without borders is no country at all, and unless serious steps are taken to cut off the never-ending flow of illegal aliens into the U.S., America might not be able to endure such an assault on its parameters.
Trump’s wall is a good start. Anyone who opposes it simply hasn’t been paying attention.
