Hollywood Liberals Like Barbra Streisand And Jane Fonda Team Up To Use Coronavirus To Demand Climate Change Reforms

To fuel their own climate change agenda, the liberal elites of Hollywood have come together this week to shamelessly use the coronavirus pandemic that has killed tens of thousands of people all over the globe.

A lengthy list of wealthy celebrities that includes Barbra Streisand, Jane Fonda, Robert De Niro, Madonna and Joaquin Phoenix signed their names to an editorial published today in Le Monde, the largest newspaper in France. The radically leftwing op-ed demanded a total overhaul of economies around the world in order to save the environment from climate change.

Titled “No to a Return to Normal,” the article was written by actress Juliette Binoche and astrophysicist Aurélien Barrau, both of whom argued that we are in the midst of a massive extinction event.

“The Covid-19 pandemic is a tragedy. This crisis, however, has an upside in giving us the chance to examine what is essential,” the editorial states, according to Breitbart News. “The ongoing ecological catastrophe is a ‘meta-crisis’: the massive extinction of life on Earth is no longer in doubt, and all indicators point to a direct existential threat. Unlike a pandemic, however serious it may be, it’s a question of a global ecological collapse whose effects will be immeasurable.”

They went on to say that it is “unthinkable to ‘go back to normal’” once the coronavirus pandemic is over. “Consumerism has led us to deny the value of life itself: that of plants, that of animals, and that of a large number of human beings. Pollution, climate change, and the destruction of natural spaces has brought the world to a breaking point,” they wrote. “For these reasons, along with growing social inequalities, we believe it is unthinkable to ‘go back to normal.’”

Other Hollywood stars who signed their names to the piece include Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Jeremy Irons, and Willem Dafoe.

Liberal celebrities have wasted no time in politicizing coronavirus and using it to push their radical environmentalist agendas. We reported earlier today that documentary filmmaker Michael Moore had described the pandemic as earth’s revenge on the human race, saying it was nature’s way of “trying to tell our species to back off, slow down, and change your ways.” Fonda, who signed the op-ed, demanded last Friday that funds being allocated to coronavirus relief be used to fight climate change instead.

It’s unbelievable that in the midst of an unprecedented global pandemic that is killing thousands all over the world, all these wealthy elites can think about is how they can use this crisis to push their own totally unrelated agendas. If only these liberal elites would put this much energy into helping the people on the frontlines of this pandemic.
