Hillary: Trump ‘Failing To Lead’ On Coronavirus Outbreak By Not Increasing Medical Supplies

Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is criticizing President Donald Trump for his approach to the coronavirus outbreak, offering plenty of commentary on his job performance whether anyone wants to hear it or not.

Hillary Blasts Trump for Not Using Enough Executive Power

The former Secretary of State’s advice includes demanding the president fully implement the Defense Production Act, which would increase executive power to force the private sector to produce goods and services in a national emergency.

“Let’s try this again, @realdonaldtrump:,” Clinton tweeted. “Hospitals are already running out of ventilators and beds. Nurses are using bandanas as masks.”

“If you’ve already ordered more with the Defense Production Act, tell us now,” she added. “If you haven’t, you’re failing to lead and failing Americans.”

President Trump Is Taking Action

Before Clinton’s tweet, Trump had announced on Wednesday he was invoking the Defense Production Act during a White House press conference on the coronavirus outbreak.

“I would like to begin by announcing some important developments in our war against the Chinese virus,” Trump said. “We’ll be invoking the Defense Production Act, just in case we need it. In other words, I think you all know what it is, and it can do a lot of good things if we need it. And we will — we will have it all completed, signing it in just a little while.”

“Right after I’m finished with this conference, I’ll be signing it,” Trump said. “It’s prepared to go. “So we will be invoking the Defense Production Act.”

The Military Times noted, “The Defense Production Act of 1950 was signed by President Harry S. Truman amid concerns about supplies and equipment during that war. It’s been invoked multiple times since then to help the federal government for a range of emergencies including war, hurricanes and terrorism prevention.”

Even though President Trump has invoked the act, Clinton is upset he isn’t assuming enough power in his role as the executive.

Whether the President is making all the right calls right now is something history will judge. That we should all be glad Hillary Clinton never became president is something she seems hell bent on reminding us every day.
