Hillary Clinton’s dishonest tenure while Secretary of State continues to get worse every day, and new emails reveal that Clinton used her influence to help a friend of Chelsea’s win Pentagon contracts.
According to a report from The Daily Caller, Clinton arranged meetings for Jacqueline Newmyer-Deal, a long-time friend of Chelsea and top Pentagon officials which resulted in consulting contracts between for Deal’s Long Term Strategy Group.
From The Daily Caller:
Clinton recommended Deal to Michele Flournoy, who had just become undersecretary for defense policy at the Department of Defense in 2009. After a May 5, 2009 meeting with Flouroy, Deal thanked Clinton for “all your encouragement and help with DoD.”
“I met with Michele’s other deputy yesterday, and we had a productive discussion about Iran and developments in maritime Asia,” Deal said in her email. “We also discussed contract vehicles and mapped out what we need to do so that we can go to work! I am very grateful for everything you have done.”
In total, Chelsea’s daughter’s friend received more than $1.3 million in DOD contracts in 2009 including “around $60,000 for unclassified reports of between 20 and 40 pages, and about $40,000 for workshops with DoD officials and think tanks. Long Term Strategy Group has gotten around $6 million in federal contracts since 2009, The Washington Free Beacon reports.”
Clinton’s relationship with Chelsea’s friend concluded in 2011 when a final email between the two parties occurred and “Clinton attended Deal’s wedding just one day before Operation Red Dawn, where U.S. special forces killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.”
This is outrageous! Hillary Clinton abused her power as Secretary of State to give close family friends government contracts! This is a conflict of interest and the American people deserve to know this!
