The verdict is in: President Trump’s first State of the Union speech was a hit with the American people. In fact, 75% of viewers enjoyed the speech, according to a CBS poll:

So Trump had a successful night, albeit some poor sport Democrats refusing to attend the speech, and one crazed illegal immigrant advocate walking out towards the end.
So where was Hillary Clinton, Trump’s felled opponent in the 2016 race, during the big night? Trying to sabotage the speech apparently.
Last week, the New York Times broke a huge story about how Hillary, during her 2008 campaign, refused to fire a “faith” advisor after he was caught sexually harassing a young female staffer.
Hillary stayed relatively silent on the story, hoping it would blow over. When her former campaign manager revealed over the weekend that Hillary had, in fact, protected the sexual harasser, she really started to feel compelled to respond. So what did Hillary do? She released a statement on the whole sordid affair minutes before Trump’s big SOTU speech. You can read her equivocating, non-apology below:
Well, how about that? If Hillary could turn back time, she’d make the decision that most benefits her currently. Funny how that works, eh?
Sorry, Hillary, we aren’t all on our second chance now. The whole Harvey Weinstein debacle didn’t change the God’s honest truth that harassing women is wrong. Things only changed in your mind because now it’s politically convenient to make a big show of firing harassers.
Regardless, Hillary’s timing for releasing this statement is suspicious. She either had one of two motives in mind: Either she wanted her measly explanation overshadowed by Trump’s speech, or she tried to draw attention away from it.
Either way, it all goes to show that Hillary is still the sad, craven person she always was, grasping for relevance, always struggling to remain current when it comes to political trends.
As POTUS would say, sad!
