Hillary Pushes Protests Against Trump’s Supreme Court Nominee

A reinvigorated Hillary Clinton is calling for her followers to fight President Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court, even urging protesters to take part in rallies against Brett Kavanaugh.

“The next Supreme Court justice could shift the court to the right for decades, with devastating consequences for reproductive rights, health care, workers’ rights, and voting rights,” Clinton tweeted.

The first half of that statement is correct – Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court will help shift power to pro-Constitutional conservatives for years to come. The second half regarding “devastating consequences” is the kind of ridiculous hyperbole that voters have tuned out from Democrats for some time.

Still, as Clinton tries to interject herself into the midterm fray, the woman who could have been making these court selections herself had she defeated Trump in 2016, is urging her base to attend rallies and protests against Kavanaugh.

The rallying cry comes just days after Senate Democrats have requested a delay in Kavanaugh’s September 4 hearing with the Judiciary Committee citing “the possibility of criminal wrongdoing by the President.”

For her part, Clinton has publicly admonished the fully-credentialed justice on previous occasions based on a perceived lack of merit. She’s even made the claim that his selection to the Supreme Court would take America back to the days of slavery.

“This nomination holds out the threat of devastating consequences for workers’ rights, civil rights, LGBT rights, women’s rights,” Clinton told the American Federation of Teachers in July. “It is a blatant attempt by this administration to shift the balance of the Court for decades and to reverse decades of progress.”

“I used to worry that (the GOP) wanted to turn the clock back to the 1950s. Now I worry they want to turn it back to the 1850s,” she added.

Clinton has some personal history with Kavanaugh, as the latter played a lead role in the investigation into former President Bill Clinton’s real estate deals in Arkansas. He also helped Ken Starr with ideas to question Bill about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Additionally, an excerpt from the book “Blinded by the Right,” relives a scene during a viewing of former President Bill Clinton’s State of the Union address in 1997 at the home of Laura Ingraham.

“I saw one of Ken Starr’s deputies, Brett Kavanaugh, who was sitting across from me, mouth the word b***h when the camera panned to Hillary,” David Brock wrote.

NBC News reported last week that the two-time failed presidential candidate will look to help Democrat candidates in 2018 by hosting fundraisers to benefit the candidates she supports.

“Hillary Clinton is stepping back into the limelight before the November midterm elections, helping to raise money for the Democratic National Committee in a series of fundraisers,” they reported.

Will her call for rallies and protests amount to anything more than self-serving, attention-seeking gains for herself?
