She’s Back? Rumors Hillary Could Make a Comeback

It didn’t take long after Hillary Clinton’s devastating loss to Donald Trump for the rumor mill to begin swirling about her political future.

Just ten days after her loss to Trump, we learned about a possibility for her next gig: New York City mayor. It would make sense, given that she won just short of 80 percent of the vote in that city. Plus, she’s a heck of a lot more popular than their current mayor, Bill de Blasio. Whether or not she’ll be making another run or getting some much needed rest is a coin toss at this point, with insiders saying that there’s a 50/50 chance. Hillary herself hasn’t commented yet on the speculation.

It’s hard to imagine her settling for NYC mayor when her eye has been on the presidency her entire political career. It was her election to win – and she lost. Perhaps she’s banking on the Trump presidency being the disaster hers would’ve been, because according to insider Ed Klein:

Hillary Clinton is considering another run for president – and is mulling the idea of launching a television talk show to soften the ground for 2020.

Clinton would be 73 years old if she were to challenge President Donald Trump – again – and win the White House the next time around.

Launching a TV program now would make her America’s second-oldest female news or talk show host on the small screen, after only Joy Behar of ‘The View.’

Author Ed Klein wrote Wednesday on his blog that according to a Clinton insider, the former secretary of state is open to the idea.

Well, good luck with that. If she’s serious about it, what makes her think she’ll win this time around?

And what on Earth makes her think anyone wants to listen to that screechy voice?

Klein’s source said Hillary has ‘been talking very seriously’ about a star turn on television.

‘As a TV host, she’d discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders and progressive thinkers.’

Hillary, in this scenario, would control everything about the show to make sure nothing unexpected could derail her future ambitions.

‘She’s convinced she’d get fabulous ratings in a political climate where there’s so much anger in Democratic circles over Donald Trump’s election,’ the insider said.

Donald Trump went from reality star to President. She could want to go from presidential candidate to reality star (what a downgrade). It really is questionable how much attention a Hillary talk show would actually get. Even though she defeated Trump in the popular vote, she still lagged Trump in enthusiasm.

No progressive angered at Trump’s win is going to tune into her show. They don’t see her as the resistance – they see her as the reason Trump won. I do too – I’m just happy about it.
