He Showed Up to Sing About GOD… The Audience’s Response Is AMAZING! (VIDEO)

1lee

Lee Greenwood is more than just a musical legend… He is a patriot who wrote perhaps the greatest song about America ever produced. “God Bless the USA” was released in 1984, and it’s even more meaningful now than it was then.

Greenwood was the member of his church choir, and is now known throughout the world. That’s why immediately after the September 11th attack by Islamic terrorists, Greenwood went to the World Series at Yankees Stadium to sing the classic hit. In New York City, he paid tribute to the thousands of lives we lost on that horrific day, while reminding us all that God is still with us.

The audience response is a must-see. They loved his American-flag jacket and his incredible performance!

Here are the full lyrics. Such a beautiful, timeless, and patriotic song!

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
And I’d had to start again
Just my children and my wife

I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can’t take that away

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the ones who died
Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining to sea

From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where there’s pride in every American heart
And it’s time we stand and say

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the ones who died
Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God bless the U.S.A.

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the ones who died
Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God bless the U.S.A.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter if you agree with the stadium audience… May God bless the USA!
