These Signs Perfectly Explain Why Gun-Free Zones Don’t Work

It’s a pretty straightforward choice.

Of the following signs, we ask, which one makes you feel more comfortable that the building you’re about to enter – be it a school, government building, shopping mall, or movie theater – is a secure facility?

Which sign demonstrates that the people inside value your safety and protection?

Which sign is more likely to prevent any acts of ‘gun violence’ on the property?

The ‘gun-free’ zone, or the one that shows the best deterrent against evil is an armed, well-trained staff on premises?

The answer, it seems, is pretty obvious. Take a look …

With each new school shooting, the gun-grabbing left, Democrats, and the media have been focused solely on the weapon being used to carry out these attacks. They have neglected to mention the vulnerable targets they’ve created with their gun-free school zone fantasies.

Former President of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre, pointed out a significant flaw in this way of thinking, and why it is vital to start protecting our children when they are in school.

“It’s a bizarre fact that in this country our jewelry stores all over this country are more important than our children,” he said at a conservative conference earlier this year.

“Our banks, our airports, our NBA games, our NFL games, our office buildings, our movie stars, our politicians, they are all more protected than our children at school.”

All of those buildings and/or entities mentioned by LaPierre have what is mentioned in the second sign above – a heavily armed and trained staff. Why don’t our schools?

There’s one very real correlation that is impossible to overlook in this debate. Our children’s schools have become easy targets ever since the implementation of the Gun-Free School Zones Act, legislation introduced by former Vice President Joe Biden and signed into law in 1990. It has turned public schools into soft targets for deranged murderers.

Patrick Neville, a Republican lawmaker and survivor of the Columbine shooting in 1999, has said: “Time and time again we point to the one common theme with mass shootings, they occur in gun-free zones.” (RELATED: Columbine Survivor Introduces Bill to Allow Teachers to Carry Guns In School).

If we start adding armed staff to all of these schools, as the sign above suggests, the next school shooter will be forced to think twice. Their chance of carrying out any carnage will diminish significantly.
