Guam National Guard Marches To Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Office After Comments She Made At CPAC

Members of the Guam National Guard marched to the office of congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene following comments she made about the island nation at CPAC.

Members of the Guam National Guard, led by their Democrat Member of Congress, marched to the office of congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene following comments she made about the island nation at CPAC.

Greene mistakenly suggested Guam was a foreign nation during her speech at the event last month.

“I’m a regular person,” the Georgia Republican said at the time. “And I wanted to take my regular-person, normal, everyday American values, which is, we love our country.”

She added, “We believe our hard-earned tax dollars should just go for America, not for what? China, Russia, the Middle East, Guam, whatever, wherever.”

The Guam Daily Post notes that the full video of her remarks was uploaded on Tuesday.

Guam Rep. Michael F.Q. San Nicolas (D) responded by leading the National Guard troops to Greene’s office with an offering of cookies, for what he described as “our ongoing outreach to new members to introduce them to our wonderful island of Guam.”

Guam National Guard Visits Marjorie Taylor Greene

Hey, we get it. San Nicolas’ National Guard stunt was a light-hearted gesture following a significant gaffe by Marjorie Taylor Greene.

But can you even begin to imagine the outcry and pearl-clutching Democrats would be doing if a Republican confronted a female Democrat colleague with marching troops for something they said erroneously?

On a side note – They could have swung by the office of Rep. Hank Johnson, also a Georgia lawmaker, to share cookies and discuss his comments on how he thought too many soldiers being stationed on Guam could cause it to tip over.

That said, we’ve been told for months now that the Capitol is locked down due to impending threats from white supremacists. That members of Congress are actively fearing for their lives.

So why do these guardsmen have the time for such a stunt?

Isn’t their presence more necessary at the perimeter of the Capitol militarized zone, tending to the razor wire fencing and manned checkpoints?

The Pentagon recently announced that the security threat at the Capitol is so extraordinary that the National Guard will have to stay on-site for another two months.

Capitol police last week issued a brief statement thanking Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for approving their request for a lengthier security mission for the Guard.

The statement praised “the Department of Defense’s continued commitment to support our critical mission to protect Congress.”

So critical they have time to bake cookies and hand-deliver them to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

National Guard Being Used as Props

Come to think of it, Greene may want to think twice about accepting food products that may have been contracted by the Capitol police.

Troops stationed at the Capitol have complained of “gastrointestinal” issues after reportedly being served undercooked meals and food contaminated with metal shavings.

Greene wasn’t in her office when the Guam National Guard and San Nicolas paid her a visit, but an aide took the stunt all in stride.

“Thank you, guys, so much for all that you do. We really appreciate it. Thank you, guys, for keeping us safe,” the aide said.
