My have the tables turned.

Former FBI Director James Comey has made a big show of being a stalwart law enforcer, all to the point of refusing to show deference to the President of the United States.

If you remember, if it was Comey who, being none too impressed with President Trump, actually fomented the ongoing investigation into possible Russian collusion during the 2016 campaign. Comey did so by leaking information to his law school buddy, Daniel Richman. This information lit the spark that ignited the entire Mueller-led probe into the Trump campaign’s connection to Russia, and continues to act as a yoke on the Administration to this day.

At the time, President Trump decried the leaks as illegal, as they contained classified information:

Now we have confirmation that Trump was right: Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley is accusing Comey of leaking classified information in order to snare Trump in a trap.

The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross reports:

James Comey may have leaked at least one classified memo to a friend shortly after he was fired as FBI director.

That’s an assessment from Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, who wrote a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Wednesday demanding answers about the handling of memos that Comey wrote following his conversations with President Trump.

Here is the important part: “Grassley noted that he and his staff recently reviewed seven memos that Comey wrote after his meetings with Trump. Four of those documents contained information classified as ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ or ‘SECRET.'”

In his letter, Grassley writes, “If it’s true that Professor Richman had four of the seven memos, then in light of the fact that four of the seven memos the Committee reviewed are classified, it would appear that at least one memo the former FBI director gave Professor Richman contained classified information.”

It looks like Comey isn’t the fearless white knight the media makes him out to be. It’s one thing to stand up to a dangerous president if you think your country is in danger. It’s another to knowingly break the law in order to demonstrate wrongdoing.

Let’s not forget that the FBI, under Comey’s direction, had been investigating the Trump campaign for Russian connections nearly a year before Comey was fired by the President.

One would assume that if Comey had any solid evidence of collusion, he would have presented it in a court of law before Trump gave him the boot.

What do you think of Grassley’s revelation that Comey broke the law? Are you surprised? Tell us your thoughts below, and share this bombshell story over Facebook now!
